Bright, Private, Comfortable Studio

This private, sunny studio/bedsit with a garden outlook is family friendly, self contained, self catering and safe. It is detached from the main house situated in a cul de sac in the quiet suburb of Chapman. It has its own private entrance. This bright, recently upgraded studio in Chapman, a suburb of Canberra in the Woden/Weston Creek area of the Australian Capital Territory accommodates two adults comfortably. A trundle bed is available for a third adult or child. A cot is also available. Both beds have electric blankets. There is a sparkling new bathroom with shower and a new, complete small kitchen with bar fridge, hotplates, small oven and microwave, kettle, toaster, pots, pans, crockery, glasses, cutlery and cooking utensils. Towels, linen, basic toiletries, iron, ironing board and hairdryer are provided. Unlimited WiFi, a TV (with Foxtel) a TV and DVD player, books, a selection of magazines, DVDs, maps and details of restaurants, activities and entertainment are in the studio. Self serve breakfast items include cereal, bread, condiments, milk and fruit. There is a reverse cycle heating and cooling unit. A washing machine and dryer are available in the main house on request and at no charge. Parking is off the road. Guests have their own private entry via a path leading from the front of the house to the studio. The studio offers privacy but we are very happy to chat and give advice, directions and assistance with travel plans, sightseeing and entertainment at any time. The studio is located in Chapman, a suburb of Canberra in the Australian Capital Territory, established in 1970. It is 20 minutes drive from Canberra City well served by arterial roads. Cooleman Ridge, a short walk from the studio, provides spectacular views of the city, farmland and the Brindabellas. There is a supermarket, pharmacy, doctors’ surgery, French bakery/coffee shop, takeaway food shop and BYO Chinese Restaurant at the Chapman shops five minutes’ walk from the studio. Chapman is well located for travellers and private and government business people given its location south of Canberra City. Cooleman Court, ((website hidden)) a more extensive shopping centre, is two minutes’ drive. Westfield Plaza at Woden ((website hidden)) is ten minutes’ drive. Tuggeranong Hyperdome is ten minutes' away serving the suburbs ,businesses and public service offices of the Tuggeranong valley. Canberra city is a 15-20 minute drive from Chapman. Buses (26 and 726 ) leave from various points in Chapman travelling directly to the city or to Cooleman Court and on to the Woden Interchange from which to access the city, the Australian National University (ANU), Parliament House, galleries, Mount Stromlo, Floriade (Sept-Oct), the War Memorial, the Arboretum, Zoo, museums, Canberra's balloon spectacular (March), the national Folk Festival (Easter), sporting events and Canberra’s other special sites and events. Having a car is the most convenient way of getting around. Canberra airport is 30 minutes’ drive. The cab fare from the airport is approx $60. Murray’s and the Greyhound bus depot, Jolimont Centre, in Northbourne Avenue is in Canberra city. The cab fare from Jolimont Centre to Chapman is approx $50.00. Uber also operates. Check in time is after 2pm and checkout is before 11am but these times are flexible by arrangement. There are hand rails on the steps to the studio and grab rails in the shower and beside the toilet. A shower stool and walker are also available. A cot, suitable for babies and toddlers, is also available. A small dog, cats (enclosed in a cat park),chooks and fish complement the house hold.
