Entire Cottage - Calstock - with outside space !!

Bird in the Hand cottage is a cosy Cornish cottage in the quiet village of Calstock. Although Calstock is a small town it has many great features to make your stay a truly memorable one and is well situated to make exploring the South East corner of Cornwall really easy. Guests will enjoy a compact yet bijou cottage with open plan living/kitchen area with dishwasher, wood burner, comfy beds and wifi all included. There is also a small decked area at the front of the cottage for your use. As you enter the cottage there is an open plan living room/kitchen space. fully equipped kitchen including an oven, dishwasher, fridge freezer and nespresso style coffee machine. We will provide basics for cooking such as salt/pepper, oil etc and a few coffee pods to get you started. We can also offer you a small starter pack - such as milk, butter etc for your arrival at a small additional cost at your request. This may be useful depending on your arrival time. In the lounge area - there is a brand new L shape sofa (which can convert into an additional double bed for which there is linen provided should you require it), TV with WIFI, Alexa Dot and Wood Burner for those cosy nights in and a dining room table and chairs. There is storage heating throughout the cottage. The double bedroom has a brand new double bed with hooks and drawers for your items. The second bedroom has brand new bunk beds, small chest of drawers and single hanging wardrobe for your use. In the bathroom your will find a walk in shower. In the property you will also find a washing machine and tumbledryer combined. Outside the front of the property there is a small decking space you can use for sundowners or alfresco dining! There is free parking in the village carpark which is a short walk from the cottage. The key will be in a key box for your arrival - however we live in the village should you require any help of advice and are available on the phone/ (Hidden by Airbnb) if you prefer. I could go on about how lovely the little town of Calstock is for hours! It really is such a bubbly, thriving small Cornish town. Loads of amenities either in the village or just on the outskirts. There is a train station in the village - just a short walk from the cottage. You can take the train further into Cornwall or back into Devon. The village is serviced by an hourly bus route to both Callington and Tavistock. There is small rural taxi companies that you can book with - that you will need to prebook any journey’s with. There are two pubs within walking distance of cottage - The Boot Inn and the Tamar Inn. Both offering great food and local ales, beers and spirits. There is a small cafe called Lishe (seasonal opening times) and our very own Ice Cream Palour called Valentis. At the top of the village is a petrol station with small convenience shop attached - as well as the delicious Dave's Fish and Chip shop. There is a small farm stand on the road down to the village - well stocked 'Sunny Acre Farm Stall', as well as the main supermarkets within approx 20min drive to either Callington or Tavistock. Tavistock is a must see - a small market town with a great panier market. There is a plethora of great walks both coastal and moorland. With Dartmoor, Bodmin Moor, The Cheesewring as well as the dramatic Cornish coast all easily drivable. Unmissable is a visit to Minions - where we have taken on the cute yellow characters of the Disney film to brighten up this small village. Coathele and Landhydrock are two National Trust venues really close by. There are loads of great cream team venues - we could recommend these on request! There is too many to choose from.
