My name is Helen, I run the gallery/shop downstairs. I am there nearly every day and be delighted to help you plan your day. I can suggest shops/ market for food . I can help guide you on trips out local walks, cycles or car journeys. Fun places to eat and shop.I can tell you where local historical sites are and how to get to them. I know where the hidden gems of the area are and love nothing better then to share them. I have not enough space to tell. Kenmare is the best town in Ireland. We have some of the best award winning restaurants in Ireland. Fantastic pubs filled with music ,great food and lots of laughter. You can buy your baguette or croissants just across the road in a proper French Cafe. Buy your locally grown organic veg picked straight from the ground 2 mins away in the local community garden. Fresh fish in Market on Wednesday or Friday or go to factory and buy there, local lamb and beef. Waterfalls you can walk around, beaches to walk or horse ride on. Local theatre and galleries. Pubs to stop at by the sea and eat mussels and drink Guinness. Woods to walk in. Places to swim. Potteries to visit. Stone circles to find. Beautiful gardens to walk in. Islands to discover. Fishing trips guided walks can be organised. Its simply endless. We have Kerry Airport and Cork airports as our closest .We have no train station in Kenmare, nearest one is Killarney about 40 mins away. Buses travel all over Ireland and come to Kenmare. There are local tour buses and taxis also available. A car is the easiest way to get around but it can be done without. We have two free car parks on our street. On-street car parking is free for two hours then you must move your car. Otherwise Kenmare is a very safe, relaxed and easy-going place to visit. People are mostly friendly and keen to help.
