Experience the largely undiscovered South of Italy. Set in a family-friendly condominium, experience the rustic and quintessential Calabrese way of life. Newly decorated apartment in Marina di Guardia Piemontese is located 150m from the beach with spectacular mountain views behind. This is a region where you can experience the remarkable local cuisine and authentic culture. An apartment that can accommodate up to 6 guests who wish to get away from it all and experience the tranquility of Southern Italy in a humble apartment well-located and within reach of local bars, restaurants and supermarkets. The apartment itself has one main bedroom and further communal sleeping space. We are a family who love to spend time together, and at one point we have managed to squeeze in 9 people! However, to be truly comfortable the apartment can accommodate 6 people. There is no lift, so the apartment is currently only accessible via stairs. Most contact will be conducted from afar, but we have a local representative who will help you settle into the apartment. Guardia Piemontese is renowned for the springs of the Terme Luigiane, the spa location that is halfway between the sea and forested mountains. The Dito del Diavolo (Devil’s finger) is a dolomitic rock from where the healthy muds and sulfurous waters spring. The seaside village has developed in recent years and it is now the destination of an increasing number of summer tourists who are attracted by the wonderful sea and a relaxing vacation. There are some wonderful places to eat in the village itself. Our favourites being Mira Mare and Arlia Gusto & Galateo which are run by our friends and you can be sure to have a brilliant night on account of their beautiful food and stunning hospitality. Lo Scolgio is also not to be missed - a 24-hour bar, gelateria, panetteria and cornetteria - we love going after a night of clubbing at 4am or after an afternoon siesta for the best ice creams in town. And if you are looking for somewhere to pick up a sandwich - Clibanario is just the spot. For special occasion dining - Zio Enzo is worth a visit. The local area is also full of interesting towns and landmarks our favourites being: - Diamante - a town famous for its diamonds, chillis, bread baking and murals - full of character and the hosts for a great number of festivals - La Terme - within the village itself are the famous Sulphur baths - many go to cure ailments but it is open to all and brilliant to have a sulphur bath whilst enjoying the healing properties of a natural mud mask - Paola - a vibrant town with many bars and cafes, home also to the most important religious site in Calabria: Santuario di San Francesco di Paola - Praia A Mare - home to some of the most beautiful beaches in Italy - including the stunning Arco Magno beach and Isola di Dino. Worth a visit is just to have a swim in crystal waters. (Website hidden by Airbnb) - Scalea - is also home to white water rafting, which is incredibly fun and a great day out. - Sangineto - if you are looking for a night of clubbing, this is the place to go. The coastline is made up of a huge number of clubs, but it is best to find out the nights they will be open by consulting the team at Lo Scolgio. Other towns we regularly enjoy visiting: Amantea, Belvedere Marittimo, Fuscaldo. There is some public transport in the village, but would advise coming by car to get the most out of the area.
