Gille Ghagaich - well equipped, comfy, secluded.

A perfect holiday cottage beside a secluded family home in quiet private grounds with a magical riverside garden. Gille Ghagaich has its own private entrance and is just a few minutes drive from the shops and 2 hotels of Blackwaterfoot and its renowned 12 hole Shiskine golf course by the sea. Just a 10 minute walk across fields to the beach and village (not good for buggies), this lovely rural location is an ideal spot for a peaceful stay on the beautiful island of Arran. The cottage is equipped for and limited to 5 guests (but has bed space for 7, giving young families flexibility in choice of double or twin master bed and additional numbers by arrangement). The larger downstairs bedroom with sofas is ideal for those such as grandparents wanting "quiet" space away from their family! The beds, linens and pillows are all of high quality and the open fire and cosy central heating ensure your break will be peaceful comfortable and warm . Please note that bath towels are not provided! You are welcome to use the entire cottage, with its lawns and parking area and the delightful riverside garden which leads on up to open pastures beyond, and some most spectacular views across the village and on to the Mull of Kintyre. Sometimes in residence at my Arran home, I am normally available by phone, and assistance on the Island is available from our "support team" if anything unusual crops up. The west coast of Arran at Blackwaterfoot is renowned for its lovely coastal views, beaches and on occasion its glorious western sunsets. Shiskine golf course beside the sea is renowned as a super 12 hole course, and for variety there are a number of other interesting courses on the island. Blackwaterfoot beach is a gem, long and sandy with swimming for the brave and just the right length for a medium seaside walk to the end and back. Although there is a bus service around the Island, we recommend you bring a car for freedom of movement. We allow one well behaved dog, (not in bedrooms) and there is a wooden cot and a high chair for baby if required. (Please provide your own cot linen). Meals are taken in the kitchen round a table that sits 5, and there are 2 armchairs and a sofa giving seating for five people in the sitting room with nice open fire if required.
