Surrounded by the magic Outeniqua mountains and fynbos, we welcome you to our little slice of wilderness bliss! Our dream for the land is to create a sustainable home and restore this stunning piece of African earth, to live simply and respect nature. We are in the process of rehabilitating our land. We wish to share this wonderful place, its views and gardens' food, with like-minded people and encourage you to explore the beauty that surrounds us here in the Garden Route. This is a a true wilderness experience. Rustic, down to earth glamping in the heart of Wilderness heights. You will sleep in our beloved VW van! Enjoy beautiful uninterrupted views of the mountains and sunset from your deck. This is an off-grid accommodation with outside facilities. Because this is a nature experience, please bare in mind you may be exposed to the elements such as wind, rain and sunshine. You will have an equipped kitchen with gas cooker, tea and coffee provided. We provide you with a chilly chest cooler, if you add ice it works well. We have solar electricity so please be mindful of what electrical appliances you use. Sometimes the solar system will struggle late at night when the sun is gone but is always back up and running by morning. There is also an outdoor fireplace with free wood. Wilderness is a high fire risk area so please don't make fires on windy days and make sure they are well put out. In the garden you will find a hot outside shower, compost toilet & hammock to enjoy the view. There is also a shady garden table if you wish to work, we have strong wifi connection and good reception. We invite you to take a walk around our garden and visit our fruit and vegetable tunnel. Our garden is home to many indigenous plants and insects, as well as many many birds and animals that wander through from the forest. We encourage an experience where you can immerse yourself in nature, enjoy the starry night sky & appreciate mother natures wonders. There are a number of places to visit and walk to in the neighbourhood. The Map of Africa view point & paragliding jump spot, a lovely coffee shop (Hallo Coffee) is across the road as well as a stunning forest and walk to the river from the property. There is safe parking provided My partner and I live on the land with our friendly dog but you can expect privacy. If you need help or have any questions at least one of us will be available. The accommodation is easily accessible by car, although you have to drive a short dirt road to get there. Our neighbourhood is lovely! The famous Map of Africa view point and paragliding jump sight are down the road. Here you have incredible views of both the ocean and Kaaimans valley and get real perspective of this stunning town. There is a cute coffee shop across the road that you can walk to and enjoy a drink and sea view. The Wilderness village, its restaurants, grocery shop and breathtaking beach is 5 minutes away by car. If you wish to buy some basics there is a little shop 2 minutes by car. Our property borders a stunning indigenous forest, we share our home and garden with nature, some of our favourite visitors include the eagle owl, bush buck, gennet, knysna loeire and many sunbirds. A treat for any bird lover. We offer guided walks down to the Kaaimans river from the property through majestic indigenous forest which take 35 minutes each way. Enquire with your host. Wilderness is a small town and therefore everything is pretty close by car. The village and beach is 5 minutes away. You can walk to the beautiful Map of Africa view point & paragliding jump spot from the property which takes about 20 minutes each way. There are endless adventure options in the area, waterfalls, hikes and beaches. There is no public transport or Uber in Wilderness so it's best to bring a car.
