This is an open, bright and comfortable home that has been fully renovated, but still has the historic charm of an older house (early 1900s). With a completely updated kitchen you have everything you need to fix a good meal or you can choose to eat out at one of the many restaurants and bars/brew pubs within close proximity. The apartment has an office nook with a desk and chair for getting your work done, or you can kick back and relax in the living and dining spaces. Guests have access to the entire apartment, three season porch, backyard, and basement / laundry room. We do not live on the property. We live about a mile away. We are available to you through out your stay and are more than happy to stop by and help you with anything. Do not hesitate to call us should need anything! The house is located in Forest Park on a tree-lined street (corner lot) in a very safe neighborhood. Enjoy local award winning restaurants on Roosevelt and Madison Streets just blocks away or other attractions in the neighboring district of Oak Park, including the birthplace of Ernest Hemingway and Frank Lloyd Wright's home and studio. There are several green spaces nearby for walking, running and other outdoor activities. Location provides easy access to Chicago through public transportation or driving. •Parking pad is behind the house for 1 car which is free for guests to use. •10 minute walk (approx. ½ mile walk) from the CTA Blue Line, which takes 30 min to get to the downtown Chicago loop. • 30 minute walk / 2 miles to the CTA Green Line and Metra Stop in Downtown Oak Park • 10 mile drive into Chicago. • Less than 10 minute drive to Loyola University Medical Center or Brookfield Zoo. • Approximately 25-30 minute drive to Chicago O’Hare airport (CTA blue line takes 1 to 1.5 hours). • Midway Airport is approximately 10 miles away. The washer and dryer are located in the basement. The basement and laundry room are shared spaces with apartment 2.
