Shoalhaven Escape - Walk to Beach or River

Escape the rat race with a visit to this fantastic single level home close to the beach & river in beautiful Shoalhaven Heads, a mere 2 hour drive from Sydney CBD. You can relax, sit back and enjoy the serenity, have fun fishing or kayaking on the river, walk 7 Mile Beach or take a dip in the sea. You'll have the entire house to yourself so relax on the deck with a cool drink while a sausage sizzles on the Bbq. Savour that holiday feel while you create lovely memories with family and friends. Free WiFi and Netflix will keep the kids occupied while you cook up a storm in the fully equipped kitchen including microwave, coffee machine and dishwasher & all the cooking essentials you may need. Enjoy indoor & outdoor dining, 2 lounge areas, 2 bathrooms (main has bath & separate toilet), laundry & a fully fenced backyard. The master bedroom has a Queen size bed, with a huge walk-in robe and an ensuite. Gaze at Mount Coolangatta while you shower and contemplate how great life is. There are 2 additional bedrooms with Queen size beds, wardrobes and dressers. We like to call them the White Room & the Black Room. There is also a double bed in our “Sleeping Nook”. It’s not strictly a bedroom because it is a space off the second living area and does not have a door. In this second living area there’s also a single bed with a pull out trundle. The trundle has fold out legs so it can be raised to normal bed height. In the laundry there is a washing machine and dryer as well an internal clothes line. The large deck has outdoor dining in mind, while the small deck is great to sit in the morning sun for that first cuppa of the day. Afternoons are for relaxing so grab a coldie and watch the native birds in the birdfeeder, or wander over to the Heads Hotel to listen to live music on the weekends while you enjoy a refreshing beverage while overlooking the river/lagoon. Guests have full access to the house other than a storage room off the dining area which is locked. Check-in is contactless with a lockbox on the premises. Your hosts, Gay & Brian, are available to answer queries via mobile 8am to 10pm. Take advantage of the boating, fishing, kayaking or surfing or for more adventures try the Bigfoot 4Wheel guided tour to the top of Mt Coolangatta. There’s an excellent 18 hole golf course here at Shoalhaven Heads that is sure to delight the golfers among us. For bowlers there’s the Shoalhaven Heads Bowling & Recreation Club a short 5min walk away. There’s also Barefoot Bowls available outside competition times, a fun activity the whole family can share in. Visit nearby Berry(9.7km), Gerroa (14km), Gerringong (18km)or Kiama (22km) for cafes, restaurants or browsing the shops. The whole family will enjoy a few hours at Shoalhaven Zoo & Adventure World at Nowra or a short (27km) journey to Cambewarra Mountain Lookout for a delicious lunch or morning/afternoon tea while taking in the incredible view. An outing to Kangaroo Valley (35km) is always a pleasure. See the historic bridge or try award-winning pies. You’re bound to enjoy a few hours at the award winning local wineries or take an afternoon or evening off to sample the many highly rated local restaurants in the beautiful Shoalhaven. If you’re into gardens make sure to visit the beautiful Shoalhaven Heads Native Botanic Garden, a short 300m stroll away. The stunning Merribee Gardens, featuring 7 acres of garden rooms & topiary wonders is just 23km away. A bit further down the coast you'll find Jervis Bay with the white, white sands of Hyams Beach (28km) or have a refreshing ale at Huskisson Hotel (21km) while you watch the whale-watch sightseeing boats depart & return.
