Beautiful 3-storey Old Tailor's House, Monmouth
Soak up the history of Monmouth in this lovely Grade II listed townhouse in the centre of Monmouth old town Conservation area. It's just a few minutes' walk from the bustling centre of Monmouth with its range of interesting independent shops, galleries, cafes and restaurants - and the lovely Victorian Savoy Theatre and Cinema in cobbled Church Street - while the wonderful Wiggie's Bakery is just up the road for delicious freshly-cooked breakfast goodies. Next door is also available for holidays. The house has two bedrooms, the main bedroom with a king size bed and the second bedroom has two single beds. There is a separate sitting room (with a sofa bed), dining room, fully equipped kitchen and luxurious bathroom. High quality bed linen and towels are provided. The property benefits from excellent central heating and smart lighting, and many of the lights are dimmable. Please note that the stairs are steep, with an extra two steps up to each bedroom on either side at the top of the main staircase. You can park outside to drop stuff off, & there’s usually space on the street - it’s limited to an hour 9-5 Monday-Sat (although we only have rare visits from a traffic warden…), but 5pm-9am & all day Sunday parking is unrestricted. There is a pay car park behind the house in Glendower Street, or you can park for free around & in the leisure centre car park or on Hereford Road, both about 5 minutes walk away. The front door is operated using a numerical keypad and code; the code and instructions will be supplied shortly before arrival. Information and manuals for appliances are left in the property. We are available by phone, text, or email in the event of any queries. The house is in a quiet street in Monmouth old town, within a stone's throw of some lovely shops, cafes and restaurants. It's a really friendly town, and during the annual summer music festival - which is free - there is a fabulous atmosphere everywhere, with musicians playing in many of the local pubs, on the street and at night on the outdoor stage by the river: it's definitely something to aim for if you enjoy live music, good food & a festival feel! Ideally located for exploring the Wye Valley, Forest of Dean, Brecon Beacons and beyond. Local attractions include Tintern Abbey, Symonds Yat, Clearwell Caves, Puzzlewood, Perrygrove Railway, local market towns and castles, walking, canoeing, fishing, golf etc. Monmouth is less than an hour's drive from Bristol and Cardiff. Parking in the street is limited to 1 hour between 9am and 5pm, with no restrictions overnight and Sunday. There are several nearby car parks with modest charges, and some free car parks within a short walk.
