Cottage Red - The Périgord Vert

We are situated in The Perigord Vert (Green Perigord) between the river Dronne and the Double Forest close to Riberac, the foie gras capital of France. We have three independent gites situated in woodland of about 3 hectares (7 acres) each one accommodating 4 people. We also have a games area which includes volley ball, badminton, table tennis. All of this is alongside our beautiful, swimming pool providing everything for a peaceful or an activity holiday. We have three independent holiday houses set in the woods. Each one has a living room with kitchen fully equipped with a fridge, cooker, microwave, kettle, coffee maker, toaster and a food mixer. There are two bedrooms one with a double bed and one with two single beds plus a bathroom with a shower and WC. Each gite has a flat screen television, a DVD and a CD player with radio. There is also internet availability in each gite. (For winter lets each gite has electric heating.) Each gite has its own private area with a terrace furnished with a table, chairs, parasol and a barbecue. There is a washing machine and dryer available on demand. We are in the Dordogne on the border of the Charente close to the pretty village of St Privat des Pres. Close by is the Double forest and the beautiful Lake Jemmaye where you can swim, hire canoes or take advantage of the many walks around the lake. There are also local markets to visit all around including Riberac on a Friday which is a must visit! Another ‘must visit’ is Aubeterre sur Dronne identified since 1993 as one of the most beautiful villages in France. It has a spectacular underground church and a delightful village square with bars and restaurants. Our local of St Privat des Pres is also a special place with a magnificent Romanesque church which is on the ‘circuit roman’ for those of you interested in medieval buildings. We also have a bar and shop where you can walk to buy your bread and croissants each morning. The swimming pool measures 12m X 6m and has sun loungers, parasols, a place to play boules, a table tennis table - enough things to do for everyone! Each gite has all of the equipment necessary to enjoy any of the activities including rackets and table tennis bats.
