April Cottage B & B and Lapland Lodge B & B (separate listing) offer 1 Double en suite, 1 Twin with private bath room and a Lodge for 3 - 4 people (separate cabin with WC and Belfast sink with hot and cold water, no shower). Large garden offering several tables with chairs and long chairs for relaxation. April Cottage B & B and Lapland Lodge B & B, Harmans Cross (halfway between Swanage and Corfe Castle). Open all year round. April Cottage is a traditional Cottage (1 Double en suite, 1st floor, accessible via spiral stair case / 1 Twin with private bathroom, ground floor) set in a large garden, ideally located midway between Corfe Castle and Swanage on the A 351 on the Isle of Purbeck. The Lapland Lodge is situated on a fantastic platform overlooking the garden and offers luxury camping. Can be used for overnight stays (3 - 4 persons) or, if not used for B & B, simply for an unforgettable BBQ (see also separate AirBnB listing). Guests in the lodge do sleep in sleeping bags with silk liners on top of cushions and sheep skins. In summer breakfasts are served in garden (weather permitting). From October to May cheese Fondue or Raclette dinners are being served in front of a roaring wood burner. Your hosts Joanna and Peter Burri – Weaver have many years of experience in the Hospitality industry and have recently managed Boutique Hotels in exotic places like the Seychelles and Zanzibar. As soon as you enter their house you will experience the unique Anglo – Swiss hospitality. You will also find many memorabilia from the very interesting past of the Weaver family. The grand-parents were stationed in Sikkim before WWI and the grand-mother was one of the first European women to walk into Tibet having to cross the many mountains and Glaciers. Her son Peter Weaver was a Major in the 1st SAS and a War hero in WW2. Joanna was the first British women representing Great Britain in the Luge event at the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid. Both Joanna and Peter love Nature and, if time permitting, will gladly show you around or accompany you on one of the many beautiful walks. Pricing: Sharing prices only applicable if staying in same room. When booking 2 or 3 rooms / lodge, each room will be charged separately and per number of persons. Guest may have access to large gardens with 3 different sitting areas and some long chairs. Lapland lodge for unique BBQ dinners (if available and not included in price). Breakfast / Dining room for breakfasts and cheese Fondue or Raclette evenings (May - October). Everything really. Tell us what you want or like to do and we will assist or direct you and if time permitting we will drive you to nearby walking destination or dropping you at nearby steam train station. Isle of Purbeck is famous for its beaches (Studland, Swanage) and is the ideal hiking and cycling area. Famous Jurassic coast is at our doorsteps and Poole / Bournemouth are only a few miles from our B & B. Swanage railways are now connected again with the main railway line of South West trains (Wareham). See website of Swanage railway for further information. From Bournemouth you can also get to Swanage by Breezer bus 50 (open deck bus). April Cottage has a total of 3 rooms which means several bookings can be taken. It is always recommendable to contact us even if site tells you we are fully booked (which is the case after having sold 1 room as only 1 room can be listed on AirBnB). During the cold season (October - May) private Cheese fondues and raclette evenings can be booked.
