INTROVERT RETREAT - Best Cottage to unwind in the cooling Rice fields of Firefly Cottage My place is a ROMANTIC/ FAMILY FRIENDLY cottage located in the middle of Rice Padi Fields. Every morning you will wake up to the sounds of birds chirping and farmers going about their busy day in the field. This hillside valley retreat boast open-plan living with high wooden beams, unfinished cements and wooden floor to give you an inviting and warm base to experience an alluring Balinese nature. A large pond garden with Red Ginger Lily, Sugar Cane and galangal surrounds the property, that you can harvest from the garden in season. A true different experience of local Balinese way of life. The cottage oversee the village Hindu Temple, bamboo forest, orange plantations and rice fields. In addition, we have equipped kitchen, and an open air dining wooden table that sits 4 for a comfortable and inviting dining experiences. Our family love to cook, so please come to our home every morning to have a breakfast of delicious omelette and toast, accompanied with fresh fruits and local dessert, along with a local home grown coffee that is made by my mother. Or you can also choose a true Balinese breakfast of rice, seasonal vegetables like chayote, mushrooms, eggs or a bowl of warm soup in the morning. The rice fields are accessible during the day, there are farmers around who are taking care of their fields, chasing the birds away, cutting grass for their cows and harvesting other produce in their fields. You can walk around the village to experience daily activities of the local people, interact with them and learn their way of lives. During the walk you will find cacao, mangosteen, durian, avocado, orange, guava, jackfruit and palm sugar trees. Other things to note - If you are bringing your own car, you can park in our house. - For food, you can always come to our house (in exchange for any fee that you deem fit for my mom's cooking), or you can get groceries on the way to the cottage, or there is a Warung (small shop) 5 minutes away from the house to get vegetables, eggs, etc. - The weather is always cooling here, and for guest coming in from Tropical weather, you might want to bring something warmer to wear for the night - Don't worry about mosquitoes, there isn't any - Water is drink out from the tap, it is from a natural spring. And there is an electric water heater for coffee, tea or hot cocoa - We encourage our guest to contribute less plastic waste during the stay - As my wife and I are tour guides ourselves, we also offer other activities that might enhance your stay like Volcano Sunrise Trekking, Balinese Cooking Class, River Rafting, Bali Swing, Down hill cycling tour, just let us know in advance.
