The Orchid Room on the 1st floor at Sha Ri Loum

Sha Ri Loum is a very spacious duplex cottage located in a serene and peaceful residential area of Shillong. The Orchid Room is on the 1st floor, very spacious and tastefully decorated. It has a king size bed and a sofa bed. The attached bathroom is equipped with modern fittings and is connected to a solar water heater to ensure 24 hrs hot water. The room opens to a balcony which has a sit-out and offers a beautiful view of the surrounding landscape. It is an ideal place for a quiet holiday. This room is about 210sq ft and opens out into a spacious balcony that gives you a view of the pine forest around it as well as the feel of staying in a typical residential area of Shillong. It is quiet and peaceful and we encourage you to take a walk around the area and enjoy the natural beauty. For your entertainment we have fitted a 32" flat screen TV with Videocon DTH connection. The room is also provided with an electric kettle along with tea bags, coffee sachets, milk sachets and sugar cubes. The bathroom is spacious and is connected to a solar water heater to ensure you get hot water 24/7 The property has a lawn and beautiful garden. It also has parking area for guest's cars. Guests can also access the terrace to hang their washed clothes or even to just enjoy the view. Our guests can walk around the house except the bedrooms that might be occupied. Food is served in the dining room. Guests can unwind and in the living room which has bamboo sofas that give a very ethnic feel and look. They can even enjoy sitting in front of the fireplace in winter over a cup of hot coffee. I will be available to look after the needs of the guests. We offer simple home food prepared in the local style with fresh vegetables and meat available in the local market nearby. We welcome guests as our friends and we are here to help them and guide them throughout their stay. We can suggest places they should visit and also arrange cars to take them around. We do our best to make our guests feel comfortable. Special food preferences for the sick, the aged and kids is also entertained. We are located in a quiet, peaceful, residential area away from the crowd and the noise. It is an ideal place if you are looking for a break and just wish ro relax and unwind. There is a lot of greenery and nature at its best. We are located in a residential locality. Guests will need to take a 10 mins walk to reach a local taxi stand but we can arrange a car for your tours and travels if you require. We even arrange pick up and dropping from and to the nearest Airport/ Railway station. We are located 1km from the Golf Course and also 1km from the University Campus. As it is a home stay, we serve local home food as per our guests preferences. You can also taste the authentic Khasi food which is our speciality. We want our guest to not only see and feel Shillong but also taste Shillong. The home has a large Drawing Room where guests can laze around or meet up with their friends outside their room. The Drawing Room has a traditional fireplace which is lit in the cold winter months. There’s also a Dining Room with a round 6 seater dining table where guests can have their meals if they choose to.
