Ideal for guests with high expectations. Secluded "Casa Viepori" lies on the hills above Pescia with a wonderful view of the surrounding nature and villages. It can accommodate up to 10 guests, has a private pool and a large garden with olive trees. The interior decor is cosy, functional and invites you to relax and enjoy the serenity of the surroundings. The ground floor has a large living space divided into 3 areas: - lounge area with 3 seater sofa, armchair, satellite television, stereo system and wifi - dining area with wooden table with up to 12 seats and a beautiful fireplace - wood fired owen area equipped with white marble shelves to make your own pizza The ground floor has also a convenient bathroom with shower, pantry space and a separate kitchen that has its own sitting space and is fully equipped with dishwasher and all the necessary appliances. On the first floor there are 3 bedrooms and a second bathroom with shower: - 1st bedroom with mezzanine: 1 King size bed and 2 single beds on the mezzanine - 2nd bedroom: 1 Queen size bed - 3rd bedroom: 1 sofa bed, 2 single beds and a 1 Queen size bed on the mezzanine The house is located between Lucca and Florence, near Pescia, just a few km from the village of Castelvecchio, one of the 10 medieval villages on these hills. Casa Viepori is surrounded by several hiking trails that lead to the villages, but you can reach them also by car. The nearest town of Pescia, with its monuments and the beautiful 17th century cathedral worth a visit is only 15 min drive from the house. Montecatini Terme, only 10 km away, is one of the famous Italian spa towns. Florence and Pisa are only 1 hour drive away and the nearest beach about 40 km. The house offers enough space for 4 to 10 people and is surrounded by a very nice garden completely fenced. Additionaly, there is 8mt x 4mt swimming pool to cool down in the summer heat. The west facing 'cotto' tiled roofed porch offers beautiful sunsets and another roofed porch facing the pool is a shelter from the sun or a great spot for alfresco dining. Sun loungers, German style folding wooden beer table with benches and a barbecue are also at your disposal. Casa Viepori is located in Castelvecchio a small medieval village, just over the small town of Pescia, between Lucca and Montecatini Spa, in a mountain area called "Svizzera Pesciatina" (Swiss in Pescia region). This zone, which can be considered both a mountain or hilly place due to its particular features, is studded with little villages known as the "10 Castella" (The Ten Castles), all made in pietra serena stone which was of great importance during the Middle Ages. The Svizzera Pesciatina was given this curious nickname by Jean Charles Sismondi, a historian, writer and economist born in Geneva but of Italian origin. After travelling a lot around Europe, he fell in love with this area and retired here, an area that used to remind him of his beloved homeland. -10 Castella (Fibbialla, Medicina, Aramo, Sorana, San Quirico, Vellano, Castelvecchio, Stiappa, Pontito, Lignana) - Try the internationally renowned "fagiolo di Sorana" or bean from Sorana, the name of one of the 10 villages. It has gained the prestigious denomination DOP a few years ago, mainly for its distinguishing feature: the skin. Many people, in fact, call it “the bean without skin": once boiled, pulp and skin become as one and the latter can hardly be tasted. Try them with some extra-virgin olive oil dressing, you'll certainly lick your chops and...mop up the dressing on your plate with bread, just like Italians usually do! - Lucca is 35 -40' away from Casa Viepori and is one of the cities most loved in all of Tuscany, a stop that can not really miss in a classic itinerary to the discovery of the region. The city can be visited in a day and is renowned for the well-preserved Renaissance walls encircling its historic city center and its cobblestone streets - Florence is 1 hour away from Casa Viepori. Is the cradle of Renaissance and it's museums, palaces, and churches house some of the greatest artistic treasures in the world - Pisa is 55' away from Casa Viepori. The Leaning Tower has made Pisa famous all over the world, and in addition to the tower, the city offers many other interesting things to see worth at least an entire day You must have a car as the house is situated in the coutryside not served by public transportation.
