Alpacas, stunning views, peace
Set, adjacent to the main house, in a pretty little garden with table and chairs for outdoor eating. The house has polished floors throughout, a cosy open fire and is comfortable and clean. Every bed has a cosy doona and each room has a garden view. Fully equipped kitchen. The view is of the magnificent hills of Gippsland. We have an orchard where the chickens roam and you can hear and see many birds around the garden and paddocks where the alpacas graze. Lovely three bedroom home set in a small garden. Fully eqipped kitchen. There is a table and chairs in the garden for outdoor eating in addition to the dining room. The farm is located on 70 acres of pasture and forest. Lovely long walks around our farm. Watch the feeding of the alpacas or help collect the eggs if you like. We have bees for our own honey, we bottle fruit from our fruit trees - apples, pears, peaches, plums. Cherries, blackberries, blueberries, walnuts and Nashis when in season. Our alpacas birth their crias from mid November to the end of January so you are bound to see some young ones running around. Shearing is in the month of November, message to inquire about specific dates for shearing if you’d like to observe. Why not spend some of your time all going on an alpaca walk. If you would like to do this, you can book an alpaca experience through our website. Our walks are at 9.30am every day or 2pm sat and sun only. Please let us know so that we can factor the time in with our farm chores. There are certain parts of our farm that are off limits, but these change during the year. Guests will be made aware of these when they check in. We are sorry but drones or any form of remote controlled equipment is not permitted on our farm. We are always available to help you during your stay. We encourage our guests to join us in our alpaca duties, not to help, but to see and participate in the running of our farm. We are almost 5km from Mirboo North and 26km from Leongatha. There are local buses from Mirboo North to both Leongatha and the Latrobe Valley. Please let us know if you would like a timetable. Even in summer, it can get cold on our farm so we advise guests to bring something warm to wear, and also footwear appropriate for farm wear and/or wet weather. When you arrive at our gate, it is an automatic opening gate with a button to press on a post on the right. Once in the gate, drive straight ahead, turn right around a water tank and park your car. The cottage gate is straight ahead with a metal alpaca on it. Your stay includes visiting and interacting with some of our alpacas if you feel like it. We also offer an alpaca walking experience through our website. Our walks are at 9.30am every day and 2pm sat and sun. * If you book a morning walk and you are checking out on that day, please check out before your walk so that we can begin cleaning the cottage for our next guests. We really appreciate your help in this. We are always available to help you during your stay. We encourage our guests to join us in our alpaca duties, not to help, but to see and participate in the running of our farm. Pets are allowed but must stay in the cottage or garden at all times. They may not be walked around any part of the farm at any time. We are sorry but drones, remote controlled devices, motor bikes and other small vehicles are not permitted anywhere on our farm or surrounding areas. If you bring your dog please keep him/her on the lead until you are in the garden of the cottage with the gate closed. Drones, motor bikes and other remote controlled devices are not permitted anywhere on our farm. We are sorry, but due to an incident where a dog killed one of our baby alpacas, Dogs may not be taken for walks anywhere on our farm, there is a park in Mirboo North or the rail trail by the hardware store. We do have a secure dog garden for your dog.
