Relax and enjoy the spectacular views of the harbour from the spacious, elevated deck of this well-appointed, two-bedroom Raglan beach house. Take in the view while you enjoy a bbq on the deck or stretch out on the incredibly comfortable sofa. Enjoy comfortable, clean beds, a well-equipped kitchen, a garden to explore or take out a kayak - there's two here for guests to use. Guests unable to travel due to a government-imposed Covid-19 lockdown can move dates or we'll consider a refund. Bay View Beach Retreat is well furnished with clean, comfortable beds, 100% cotton sheets, eco products and quality appliances. Bedroom configurations are master - queen bed and the second bedroom has two single beds that can be joined together to form a kingsize bed. There is a Baby Bjorn travel cot available for babies/toddlers at no charge (please enquire) and the courtyard and deck is contained for safe play. The kitchen is a dream to cook in and the social centre of the house. On the deck, there is a gas-fired Charbroil barbecue for guests to use and comfortable outdoor furniture for lounging and alfresco dining. There is a heat pump and air conditioning in the summer. Quality sound system, smart TV and unlimited WiFi. There are books, board games, cards and CDs (but you can Bluetooth your own playlist), a picnic blanket, small chilli bin/esky, beach towels, two kayaks with lifejackets (small adult and XL adult) and kayak trolleys. Wander through the back garden and help yourself to herbs and any veges and fruit in season. We want our guests to have fun, but the house is not available for parties or events. The house is most suited for 1-2 couples or small families. WHAT THE CLEANING FEE COVERS: This property is cleaned prior to guests arrival to meet Ministry of Health commercial cleaning standards. Due to Covid-19, we’re taking extra care to disinfect frequently touched surfaces between our reservations. A part end of stay cleaning service is included. We ask guests to wipe benches/surfaces, wash and put away dishes, clean the barbecue (if it has been used) remove food, place rubbish and recycling in the bins provided, and leave the property tidy and clean. Guest stays include 100% high thread count cotton sheets, quality towels and beach towels. We provide olive oil, salt, pepper, fresh local plunger grind coffee, tea, milk and eco cleaning products, toilet paper, liquid hand soap and body wash, and shampoo and conditioner. PLEASE NOTE FOR LONG STAYS: During discounted long-term stays (on our monthly rate), we clean before and after your stay as above. We do not clean, replace supplies or do guests' laundry, but we do supply guests with extra linen and towels and we can arrange a cleaner at the guest's cost. The house has a washing machine, clotheslines, vacuum cleaner and cleaning supplies for guests' use. The whole property is accessible for guests. We're Raglan residents and we're just a text or call away to give advice on beaches, local surfing, attractions, adventure and entertainment to help make your Raglan holiday a great experience. Raglan is an exciting adventure playground with a lively town centre and a great place to relax. Bay View Beach Retreat is in the centre of this so you can easily access the beautiful harbour, the beach, the iconic wharf and Raglan's eclectic and wonderful cafes and shops by foot, car or bike. Must-see and must-do highlights: Bridal Veil Falls - so good on a hot day, or any day. Te Toto Gorge - stunning scenery, great drive down the windy, wild west coast. Explore our beautiful harbour by kayak. Raglan's food-only night market Evening Eats (operates once per month on Saturday evenings from October until early March). Raglan Creative Market on the second Sunday of each month. Yoga and pilates classes. Get a massage. Climb Mount Karioi. Walk the length of beautiful Ngarunui Beach or swim (lifeguards patrol in summer). Surf the beach, Manu Bay, Whale Bay or Indicators or get some lessons from Raglan Surf School. Try stand-up paddleboarding (SUP). Hire a bike or bring your own. Te Ara Kakariki is Raglan's newest mountainbike trail, located at Wainui Reserve. Raglan CBD - shops, cafes and our iconic pub. Ruapuke Beach - go south, it's a stunner. Raglan has a beautiful golf course - expect a few resident sheep. The house has a guest folder with brochures on many attractions, plus you will find more online, just (Hidden by Airbnb) or visit the Information Centre next to the Museum on Wainui Road. You will be just a short five minute (max) walk to picturesque Lorenzen or Cox Bay where there is safe high-mid tide swimming and at low tide, Raglan Wharf is a short walk around the bay for fish and chips, fresh seafood, Tony Sly Pottery, espresso, a drink, a fish or a harbour tour. Just a few minutes drive away (or a 20 minute walk), Raglan's 'CBD' has great cafes, galleries, bars and shops. Raglan's ocean beaches are a 5-10 minute drive south of town. Head to Wainui Reserve to access Ngarunui Beach, or if you want to drive right up to the ocean, visit Wainamu Bay (often referred to as Ocean Bay). There is a bus stop just down the road (on Manukau Road) and if you need a lift, contact Raglan Shuttle, for transfers, tours and taxi services.
