Spacious 1st floor flat. Perfect flat for a family to relax and enjoy a break. Bright lounge with Smart TV, centrally heated throughout, (open fire on request). Dining area seats 6 to enjoy a family meal. Large spacious kitchen. Modern family bathroom with bath/shower (Towels provided) .Enclosed garden suitable for children and pets. Double bedroom also has a travel cot if required. Second bedroom has a TV with DVD. The entrance hall has ample space to store bikes with storage for walking gear. We have tried to create a relaxed family feel to this property. Relax on our comfy sofas after your days out. Lounge has a Smart TV with full access to Netflix. The lounge also has a dining area which will comfortably seat 6 if you have some extra company for dinner. There is Internet and wifi access so you are able to use iPads and laptops. There are a selection of kids books, card and board games, magazines and books. The kitchen (seats 4 + high hair) is spacious with access to the garden from the kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped and we also provide tea, coffee, sugar and a carton of milk for your arrival. Modern family bathroom with large bath and shower (towels provided). Double Bedroom (linen included) also has a travel cot and bedding. The garden is fully enclosed creating a safe environment for children and pets. There is a patio area (seats 4) and for the summer season there will be a barbecue. The flat is all self contained so have full access. There is also access at the rear of the property which is locked for extra security (key supplied on arrival) I will be there to meet you, to hand over your keys and to answer any queries. I will be available during the day between 9 and 5 (Monday - Friday) at In House to answer any questions and contactable by phone after hours and weekends. If I am not able to meet you a member of my staff will take care of you. Situated in the centre of Castle Douglas the flat is close to all local amenities, shops, restaurants and bars. A busy market town, it is the perfect base for cyclists, hill walkers, fishing and golfing. The town has a lot of independent retailers excellent selection of bakers, butchers, specialist foods. The town has a wide variety of eateries to suit all tastes, local bars and hotels. There are some lovely local walks, 2 parks for children with one being situated beside Carlingwark Loch where you can fish or go out on pedal boats (seasonal). There are plenty of places to visit to suit all ages and some lovely beaches, and areas for walking all accessible by car. On the outskirts of Castle Douglas, you will find The National Trust of Scotland's Threave Garden and estate and Threave Castle. Or find time to visit the beautiful artists' town of Kirkcudbright, with its busy harbour and MacLellan's Castle, as well as the National Trust's Broughton House, home of artist E.A. Hornel. Scotland's fascinating culture and history can all be explored locally including the historic Caerlaverock Castle with its unusual triangular floor plan, Drumlanrig Castle, home of the Dukes of Buccleuch, and more modern sites including Moat Brae in Dumfries, where J M Barrie wrote Peter Pan. The wonderful scenery can be savoured with walks or drives along Loch Ken and through the Galloway Forest Park which is a designated Dark Sky Park. Loch Ken also provides varied water sport activities including fishing, sailing and water skiing. Quiet lanes abound for cycling and walking with a circular route available nearby. Unspoilt and quiet beaches can be found close by, and younger visitors are well catered for with Cream o'Galloway at Gatehouse of Fleet and The Cocoa Bean Factory at Twynholm or for those brave enough, try one of Europe's longest zip-wires at Laggan Outdoor, near Gatehouse of Fleet. Course and sea fishing are readily available throughout the area along the stunning Solway coast which is a must to visit with wide open deserted beaches. In Autumn and Winter large numbers of barnacle geese arrive at the RSPB Mersehead Reserve on the Solway Coast giving an unrivalled chance to see these amazing birds and other winter visitors, and the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust Centre at Caerlaverock, near Dumfries is also well worth a visit. Golfing should not be forgotten with many local courses for all, including the challenging Links Championship course at Southerness. A car is recommended but there is a local bus service to nearby towns (timetables in welcome folder) Castle Douglas is the perfect base for cyclists, hill walkers, golfers and fishing. Castle Douglas is a great base for golfing, fishing, walking and cycling. There is ample room in the entrance hallway to store bikes, walking gear, clubs and fishing rods.
