Your host Carolyn, lives next door at Dan y Graig farmhouse and is always available to meet your requirements. The 18th century barn has exposed beams and stonework and is very tastefully decorated with Welsh slate floors and Welsh oak. It has underfloor heating throughout, which is heated by an environmentally friendly ground source heat pump, and complimentary superfast fibre broadband. The barn is set in spacious gardens and enjoys lovely countryside views beyond the lower Towy valley towards Pembrokeshire and the Preseli mountains. Y Beudy at Danygraig is set between the villages of Cwmffrwd and Idole just three miles from Carmarthen, which is home to national broadcaster S4C and the University of Wales Trinity Saint David. It is also an excellent base for exploring the many tourist attractions in Carmarthenshire. The market town of Llandeilo is just 18 miles up the Towy valley; a picturesque journey past Dryslwyn and Dinefwr castles, and the excellent restaurants Y Polyn and Wright's. The National Botanic Garden of Wales is only ten miles away. One of Wales's top tourist attractions, Pembrey Country Park, is just 11 miles to the east with its 8 miles of golden sands and endless woodland trails for walking and cycling. You can also ride safely from here to Llanelli along the Millennium Coastal Path. Ffos Las racecourse is also nearby. The Sunday Times' best beach in Britain, Tenby, is less than 30 miles to the west, as is Narberth with its pretty boutiques. Dylan Thomas's boathouse in Laugharne is 15 miles away. It's just ten minutes by car to Ferryside, which has wonderful views across the Towy estuary towards Llansteffan castle. A recently relaunched ferry service takes passengers by boat to Llansteffan.
