Need some time to unwind? CaderView is perfect. It's just right for couples (+2) and dog friendly! Fabulous views from your private enclosed garden take in the Cader Idris mountain range and the Mawddach Estuary. Explore the local area or take a walk straight from your front door. Easily drive to local beauty spots, beaches and more. Relax in the jacuzzi bath after walking the hills or coast visiting castles or riding the Zip Wire. Winter or Summer, all year round, a little corner of heaven. Our dog friendly Annexe to a traditional Welsh hillside cottage is the perfect place to get away from it all, yet within 15 minutes drive from the seaside town of Barmouth and lovely town of Dolgellau , with their shops and restaurants. (The bus service for both towns is at the foot of the lane). Accessed via its own private drive, the property is set high up above the lane which leads to the Clogau Goldmine in the picturesque Hirgwm Valley whose river rushes by through ancient oak woodland a short step away. The views from CaderView are second to none. We are in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park (Website hidden by Airbnb) and your private garden overlooks the Mawddach Estuary with its ever changing swirling waters and sands, and the magnificent Cadair Idris mountain. There is a South facing private patio and the garden is just a step outside. As we are fortunate to avoid light pollution, the Milky Way is a spectacular sight filling the night sky above the cottage. There is easy access from the door to mountain and river trails for walks and mountain biking. Free Parking available on site. CaderView is ideal for couples. The bed space is accessed by a steep paddle staircase. see below PLEASE NOTE The stairs to the sleeping platform are fairly narrow and steep "paddle" stairs. Guests should also note that the sleeping platform has rails . There is a double bed in the sleeping space, and a double bed setee in the lounge, should you need separate beds or find the stairs are too steep. 4 guests can be accommodated but do note that one bed is the bed setee. If you need it, there is a camp bed too and an inflatable single air bed. Private access to CaderView is via the public footpath which runs behind the house from the parking space on the drive. If you arrive and it has been raining or is dark, please use the garden path and stay to the left of the main house, where you will find the entrance through a wooden gate. The owner lives next door. Bike storage available. You have your own garden with views and seating. Parking space. PLEASE NOTE The house is accessed from a tarmaced lane which is well used and has plenty of passing places. There is a signpost to our house Llechfraeth Uchaf ( the main house name) at the bottom of our drive, complete with an Airbnb logo. The satnav runs out at the cattle grid and we are the NEXT house on the hill up a drive. ☆☆♡DO NOT KNOCK AT THE HOUSE BY THE CATTLE GRID♡☆☆ The road IS steep and if you are using public transport you will need us to arrange a lift for you with your luggage, unless it is very easily managed. David or Claire are generally available to offer advice and help if needed. The space has its own private access, garden and patio. We prefer you to not leave your pet "Home Alone" in case of accidents or damage, unless they are happy in their crate/cage and have access to drink/food. The cottage is set in the mythical heartland of Wales where the stories of King Arthur and the tales of the Mabinogion abound, and prehistoric cromlechs and standing stones testify to early settlements, The charming market town of Dolgellau is 3 miles away and the seaside resort of Barmouth with its broad, sandy beaches and small fairground lies 4 miles to the west. Both are well served with supermarkets where you can find all you need. The magnificent medieval castles of Caernarfon, Harlech and Conway are a drive away, together with several outstanding gardens including Bodnant and Portmeirion. The area boasts six narrow gauge mountain railways with steam locomotives for enjoyable trips. Painters and sculptors exhibit in the area and local crafts include handwoven textiles, slate and wood carving and jewellery. You can listen to Welsh choirs and harp music, and in the summer visit sheepdog trials. The region abounds with rivers, waterfalls and lakes. You can visit slate and copper mines and ride the exciting 100 kph ziplines slung across slate quarries at Zip World in Blaenau Ffestiniog and Bethesda. There are a variety of nearby restaurants ranging from country mansions in the hills to quaint pubs serving simple food and local craft ales, not to mention a Tapas bar with a chef who hails from Bilbao. Recently Dolgellau has seen the addition of an amazing bijou venue. Beechwood House, sitting next to the entrance to the Marian and right by the bridge over the Union River. It is a bar that boasts a series of cosy atmospheric rooms, music-themed events once a month and a fantastic selection of cocktails. We doubt if there is anything to rival it for atmosphere in the whole of North Wales. The best way to get here is by car, but a train service runs from Birmingham to Barmouth, and bus services run between nearby towns. Most direct access by road is from the M6 to the M54 to Shrewsbury, then on to Dolgellau. Detailed directions up to the cottage will be provided. Please check the photographs in the check in information. Complete Guest information folder available to help with operating the facility and planning trips, outings and dining information. ☆♡☆IN CASE YOU MISSED OUR PLEA IN OTHER SECTIONS....
