The Market Hall in the centre of Tetbury was build in 1655 for the sale of wool and yarn and is still used as a market today (Wednesdays & Saturdays). Baytree Court sits at the top of the iconic Chipping Steps. A walk down the steps and onto Gumstool Hill will reveal another part of Tetbury's history. Gumstool Hill gets its name from the reputed site of the old ducking stool, a very visible method of punishment. This area is still used for the annual Woolsack races.
