1512 Redbanks Road, American River. Our comfortable, clean and spacious house has one queen, one double and a set of bunk beds for your family comfort. Enjoy the open living and dining area, cook your own meals in our no fuss, clean kitchen. Be within walking distance to the famous American River Oyster shop. Leo’s Place offers a perfect base to explore the natural beauty the island offers, close enough to all the attractions. Sorry, no wifi, no oven and no air conditioning. 1512 Redbanks Road, American River. Our place is modest, not fussy, very comfortable, peaceful, tidy and homely. Conveniently located and easily accessible. Entire house, two double rooms and third bedroom with two single beds (bunk). Use of kitchen: electric stove top, toaster, kettle, coffee machine, bench top grill, slow cooker, pots, pans, cutlery crockery, microwave BUT NO oven. NO dishwasher. NO BBQ facilities. There is a separate laundry. One main bathroom with shower, bath tub, toilet and bidet. Linen supplied. NO beach towels. NO Wifi. NO air conditioner. We have a key lock for your convenience. I will contact you with the access code the day before check in. We live in Adelaide so we can’t be there to greet you but my neighbours John and Chen are always happy to help out if necessary. Of course you can contact me too but I can only offer long distance support. The area is quiet and tranquill. Perfect for long walks, fishing off the jetty and enjoying the natural beauty. Close to playground, tennis courts, picnic and BBQ areas. Access to fishing charters and a boat ramp. There are many wonderful sites to visit in the vicinity, you must visit Pennington Bay, Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillary, Clifford's Honey Farm, KIS boutique gin distillery, Lavender Farm plus much more...... And if you are there on Thursday night eat at Tru Thai food truck up the road. The new American River Post Office has some basic supplies and souvenirs as well as your usual post office items and a pretty good supply of wines. We recommend the Mercure’s restaurant, The Oyster Shop, The Deck for places to eat out and for local history visit the shipbuilding shed where they are building a replica of the Independence. You need your own transport to get around but there is a bus service to Penneshaw and Kingscote (30 km away): check times and availability Neighbours are friendly and helpful. There is no town water supply at American River. All of our water comes from the sky. Please conserve water when showering. We have solar hot water so keeping showers brief will ensure you don't run out.
