Located in the heart of the wonderful city of Maribor, the sustainable BE:CYCLE house makes a good start to your day-trip or journey; at any rate, it is an excellent vantage point for all new discoveries and experiences in the city on the Drava River. Did you know that the BE:CYCLE building is 160 years old and is heritage protected by the Institute for the Protection of the Cultural Heritage of Slovenia? And that this building once was an important hub for citizens, with a small local grocery store and one of the area’s few butcher shops? And did you know that the building also has a sad story to tell, which nearly led to its complete demise over the years? But the sad story took a happier turn in 2017, when the old building was given a new lease on life: a modern, low-energy one, with an abundance of good energy. Completely changed for the better, the entirely refurbished edifice now offers sustainable accommodation for all travelers; it has aptly been renamed “BE:CYCLE”, inviting you to become part of a change for the better. “New environments enrich you when you travel. Enrich them back.” You will be located at the heart of the city Maribor, so best way to discover Maribor is on foot or by bicycle. Public transport is also at hand.
