Finikas is one of Syros' most delightful & authentic villages located 12km away from the main city and port 'Hermoupolis'. Its name derives from the Phoenicians who were its first inhabitants. The village has about 750 inhabitants engaged in agriculture, fishing and tourism. Along the coastal road in Finikas, you will find many local tavernas and nice cafes. At the center of the village there are tourist shops, super markets, a gas station, bakery and pharmacies. You can find a lot of sandy beaches in the area such as Sousouni and Kokkina beach and enjoy fresh sea food literally on the beach. Finikas Beach is the second natural port of Syros after the main port of Hermoupolis and has an organized marina next to it with all the facilities to welcome yachts and boats of any kind. It is a joy to fans of underwater fishing as it is an excellent fishing ground. We suggest renting a car or motorbike to make the most out of the island.
