Room, Breakfast & Dinner

Our house is in a quite street in typical australian suburbia. We're within walking distance to our beautiful beach and the Glenelg district. We offer a comfortable room with a queen size bed, your own toilet and bathroom with towels and essentials included. We have free WI-FI. We can lend you a bicycle if you like riding, no extra charge. We have various bikes available. Breakfast of your choice included and you're welcome to join us for dinner. US AND OUR HOME We, Gerda and Hans, are a Swiss-Australian couple living in Australia for a very long time. We have grown children and one grand child, all living nearby. We love to meet new people and offer a nice clean room to stay. We hope you like our cat Gypsy who is very friendly and likes to say hello. Our house is close to shops, transport, the beach and Glenelg. You can sit outside in the backyard under a tree or on the Veranda just outside your room. If you are a smoker, you can smoke outside. YOUR ROOM It’s to the back of the house with a big window to the backyard. It has a queen size bed, a desk, a big wardrobe with shelf's, hanging spaces and 4 drawers, one of them with a look for your valuables. We supply free WI-FI. You'll have your own bathroom and toilet. If you have some washing to do you can use the washing machine under Gerda's instructions and hang up your clothes outside, just as we do. If you like watching some TV, there is a TV just outside your room, or you can join us in our lounge room. MEALS Breakfast and dinner is included. For breakfast I can make you a fresh Bircher-Muesli, eggs or anything else you like. We have dinner around 6:30pm and you're welcome to join us. We cook healthy food including lots of vegetables and salads, in winter soups. If you have any special dietary requirements please advice us of these in advance. TRANSPORT / LOCATION Our house is only 10 minutes from the Airport (by car) and near the old town of Glenelg by the beach. The Tram is about a 15 minute walk to stop 13, Glengowrie. The Tram is running all day to the City and down to Glenelg. There is a bus station 3 minutes away, with buses to the city and to the big Westfield Marion Shopping Center. If you are keen you can borrow a bicycle incl. helmet and lock. We have a ladies bike with a basket and a male mountain bike. LOCAL SHOPS AND PUB There is an IGA Supermarket, a Post Office and 3 different Take Away places just up the road, about a 5 min walk. There is also a local pub just 10 minutes walking distance, which has sports-channel and serves nice meals all day. You'll be given house keys. There are spare keys in a locked key box outside. The key box will also be used as self check-in in case we are out on your arrival. Gerda works as an Artist/Crafts person from home and has time to assist you with pretty much anything. Just ask! Hans is retired and also available if you need his help in any way. We like to share our evening meal but if you rather chill out in your room, that's perfectly fine too. It's typical australian suburbia with small houses along the streets. We don't get much traffic in our street and it's nice and quiet at night. There are shops up the road, a five minute walk: small super market, some take away food outlets, hairdresser, a cafe and the local post office. The tram and various buses will take you wherever you want to go. They are all in close proximity. We have metro-cards ready for guests to use public transport. We offer a men's and a ladies bike to our guests. The men's bike is a nice mountain bike, the ladies one is the upright style with a shopping basket attached. There are some other bikes available. Our cat Gypsy is a very friendly cat, meaning she will be saying hello to you cat style :-). If you don't like cats then you might not be happy here.
