Rosevears Retreat with Wi-Fi, Netflix, Tamar River

Enjoy the scenic river views, privacy and peace while staying in our sun-filled, cosy 3-bedroom holiday home. Its two modern bathrooms, living space with waterfront views and comfy beds will help you relax and unwind. The home is 20 mins from Launceston CBD & 30 mins from the airport. Conveniently situated in the heart of the Tamar Valley and close to many wineries, restaurants, tourist attractions and all that Launceston has to offer! Ample parking, unlimited WiFi and free Netflix. Guests will have access to the entire home, with 3 bedrooms with warm timber floors, 2 modern bathrooms, fully appointed kitchen, and dining, as well as comfy lounge. Guests can enjoy commanding and expansive water views with a backdrop of rolling green hills from the living room, kitchen, the main bedroom or the newly built front deck. The retreat is only a few minutes’ walk to the iconic Rosevears Hotel (with a pub and restaurant!), jetty and pontoon and a 7-minute drive to a modern Shopping Centre. Rosevears is a mere 20 minutes away from Launceston CBD and situated on the banks of the Tamar River and in the heart of the Tamar Valley, one of Tasmania's prettiest regions with spectacular views and packed with things to do and places to go. There are some beautiful wineries around the valley offering superb views and wine tasting. It’s Tasmania’s oldest wine growing region and is renowned as one of the best in Australia. The rolling hills of the valley and its rich agricultural land attracts growers and producers including makers of artisanal cheeses and beers. On the western shore the best is Brady's Lookout (10 minutes from our home) with beautiful expansive views of the river and surrounding valley. On the eastern shore, you can stop at Mount George Lookout, an historic semaphore site and the best photo opportunity of the valley and surrounding districts. With an easy drive of 25 minutes from our house you can visit George Town, one of Australia's first settlements with a rich maritime history. Take a short drive further on to Low Head at the mouth of the Tamar and visit Australia's oldest continuously operated Pilot Station. There's also a Maritime Museum and the Low Head Lighthouse that's been operating since 1833. Beauty Point, only 20-minute drive from our home, where children (and also adults!) will love the unique Seahorse World, the world's first commercial seahorse farm. And on the way you'll pass through Beaconsfield where the Beaconsfield gold mine made headlines in 2006 when a rock fall trapped two miners underground for two weeks. The interactive exhibit on the mine collapse at the Beaconsfield Mine and Heritage Centre is amazing. You can also visit the Grindelwald Tamar Valley resort, only 10 -minute drive from our place, there are activities to keep families entertained including a full-size wooden pirate ship, mini golf, a bouncing cushion, pedal boats, paddle kayaks, canoes, one and two-seat pedal cars, BBQ facilities, children’s playground and more. Tasmania Zoo, less than 20 minute-drive from Rosevears, provides world standard facilities to over 100 rare, exotic and native species. Tasmania Zoo exhibits the largest collection of rare, exotic and native species in Tasmania. Greens Beach is merely less than 30 minutes away from our home. A vehicle is recommended for your stay in Tasmania. Care is needed when driving at dawn and dusk as native fauna and flora tend to become more active at these times. Please help protect our cyclists when driving along the river. A stroll along the Tamar River will give visitors breathtaking scenery and photo opportunities.
