Located a 5 minute walk from bus stops which take you directly into Beverley one way or Hull the other. 5 minute drive to Cottingham train station. As a family, we live and work on the yard. As a result we tend to be always about to help out or to have a friendly chat. We have lived in the area all our lives so feel well equipped to impart the local knowledge that we have built up. Don’t hesitate to text us if we aren’t on the yard and we will always endeavour to respond at the earliest opportunity. Countryside setting but conveniently located on the edge of the city, with all the associated amenities at hand. Local country pub and Chinese restaurant / take away 5 minutes walk away. 5 minutes drive large retail park, with selection of shops, cinema and bowling alley. Free parking for up to 2 cars alongside the accommodation. The property is located on a main bus route to Hull or Beverley. Cottingham train station is a 5 minute drive away. Cycle lanes run into Beverley. A real attraction of Meadowcroft- The Paddocks is its location, set on a working livery yard. This offers our guests the opportunity to spend time surrounded by our wonderful horses (up to 25 at any one time) and other pet animals. For your own safety and the safety of others / our animals, we do ask our guests to observe some basic, common sense, procedures. These are outlined in more detail in the Guest Safety section. Please do not be concerned that this will detract in anyway from your experience, we genuinely want to share the benefits and joy of being around our animal residents. Through the Summer period various country events are held here at Meadowcroft Livery and Competition Yard. Key dates to note are; 18 July 2021 - Our Annual Summer Horse Show, established and well supported show, with horsey related events featured throughout the day. Up to 500 people are likely to attend. 25 July 2021 and 15 August 2021 - Fun Dog Show - Entries open to all, as long as you have a dog! Nothing serious just great fun at these well attended, family days. More events to follow. Please note, we are a real, live working yard and you should expect to encounter some occasional sights, sounds and perhaps smells, associated with animals that you would'nt typically encounter. Also be aware that ground conditions can be largely dependent on the weather, so be prepared and bring along suitable footwear for your stay. Up to 2 dogs are welcome, if well behaved. We ask that dogs remain in the living area only and do not climb on the furniture. The Caravan provides a secure dog exercise area (20mx20m) immediately outside the caravan. Elsewhere around the yard / fields dogs must be kept on a lead at all times. Please always clean up any dog mess. You will have the option of having our chickens, Florence the pet sheep and Hazel our pet pygmy goat living in the paddock alongside you (sorry, not available to parties with dogs). Don’t panic, the accommodation area is fenced off away from the animals immediate living quarters but only a gate away from feeding time! If you would prefer to have the paddock for your own, sole use, its not a problem. The girls can still be visited and fed, just a short walk away, whenever you choose. Meadowcroft - The Paddocks is located just a 10 minute drive from the historic town of Beverley. The town has a real cafe culture feel to it and hosts numerous quality restaurants and cafe bars. You could couple viewing the outstanding Beverley Minster with an afternoon picnic on the expansive Beverley Westwood. Kingston upon Hull, formerly City of Culture in 2017, is also on your doorstep and provides a variety of attractions typical of such a large and cosmopolitan city. The much vaunted Marina, with the near by "Hull Fruit" area, is a must see and is located close to the Museum Quarter (all museums are free of charge). Drive no more than 25 minutes north and you will be in real David Hockney country, surrounded by the rolling hills and huge skies of the Yorkshire Wolds. A similar distance east and you will find yourself on the coast. Hornsea offers fantastic beach front walks and if you want to venture slightly further afield, Bridlington can be reached in 45 minutes and Scarborough less than an hour. If you prefer greenery to the beach head up to the North Yorkshire Moors, for its breath taking scenery, quaint villages or proper pint of Yorkshire bitter! Dalby Forest, a haven for off road cycling can be reached within the hour. Whilst there why not get the adrenalin going swinging through the trees at Go Ape?
