Perfect for travelling to the sights of the Deccan, only five hours to Bijapur and onto Gulbanga and Bidar. Perfect peace just to read paint write do yoga learn to cook birdwatch and long walks. Spectacular views and two kms to the nearest village. Spectacular views of the hills of the Deccan all around; and seven acres at 3700 ft means privacy and peace. Very comfortable large room with a double bed that can be made into two single beds (additional single bed possible). Sitting out balcony on two sides, attached dressing area and bathroom and sunrise and sunset from your bed. Your own room with tea & coffee facility. 3 meals a day of simple Indian/Maharashtrian food cooked by Usha and Vithal (at a nominal charge), the lovely caretaker couple who live on the farm. Study with TV, sound system and sofa bed. The room has the same view of the garden and hills. A fantastic Alsatian (Chikki) who was bred on the farm and lives there. Very, very friendly and he does have his own kennel if needed. As much advice as you need and you can accompany me on my long walks with Chikki. We can eat together and drive to places of your interest. Or just meet for dinner. I can also take you to the wonders of the Deccan- Bijapur, Gulbarga and Bidar. Long walks, talking to the local farmers. We all grow strawberries. The views are fantastic, whichever way you look. Easy to take a trip and see the wonders of the great architecture of Bijapur , Gulbarga and Bidar. Or the coast at Jinjira and Dhabol. Local market on Tuesday is a fantastic experience in Mahabeleshwar which is 11 kms away. There is a bus every hour and we are 7mins walk to the bus stop. The car is usually available as well. We have a full sized table tennis table always available. We are 11 kms from Mahabaleshwar and you take the Tapola road out of the bazaar until you see a left turn towards Chikhali. Hourly buses leave from the main road to Mahableshwar and on to Panchgani, Wai, Poona, Mumbai or Goa. The house is modern and functional. There is a barbecue and seven hilly acres. Two acres of vegetables, gladioli and strawberries until the water lasts. Electricity fluctuates and there is no electricity on Tuesdays but it's an opportunity to get out and about and it's a great excuse for a lovely candlelit dinner. There is no wi-fi although 3G mobile access works for most major mobile networks. Mahabaleshwar provides everything from internet cafes to a wide variety of cuisine. There is very heavy rainfall in the monsoon (June to August) but the house is still open and accessible. A wonderful time to write.
