A delightful self contained, cozy, one bedroomed thatched, beamed annexe/cottage set directly on the 1066 footpath. The Annexe is part of a converted old Sussex barn in Icklesham, near Winchelsea & Rye, East Sussex. It is perfect for exploring the area, suitable for short stays & long weekends. One dog very welcome but sorry no enclosed garden, although there are plenty of walks directly from the cottage. The Queens Head pub is walking distance serving lovely food and award winning beer! ** Sorry not suitable for children ** Self contained, one bedroomed, thatched annexe, set next to owners house & small holding of stables, with horses & dogs. 1 double bedroom with new (2021) king sized Hypnos bed, with en suite shower room. The property is based directly on the well known 1066 footpath,. The Queens Head Pub is a 3 minutes walk away, at the bottom of the lane, they serve lovely food, dogs are welcome - on a lead. *** Apologies, but I do not have facilities for charging electric vehicles - yet! Close to Winchelsea, Rye, Camber Sands & Hastings Coffee, Tea, Sugar & a pint of fresh milk are provided on arrival. Check in/out -normally check In 2pm or after - Check Out 11am, but can be flexible dependent on bookings. Dogs are very welcome one or maybe two, small/med sized (please check with me) well behaved! But! please be aware .. there is no fenced off garden, dogs must be kept under control (on a lead) when outside the property due to livestock, we have sheep nearby, there will be walkers/ramblers on the 1066 footpath. Please make sure dogs do not climb on the furniture. If required I can meet meet you (socially distanced) to show you in, hand over the key & explain how things (TV, heating etc) work if needed. The annexe is completely self contained but as we live next door - if you have any questions; we can help you. Parsonage Barn is a traditional converted, thatched old Sussex barn. It is a comfy and cozy cottage set in an attractive, peaceful position with superb views over farmland. We are situated between the historical towns of Rye, Winchelsea and not far from Hastings Old Town and Camber Sands. It is the perfect base to explore famous gardens, vineyards, houses and castles throughout the year. From the front door there are easy access to extensive footpaths. The nearest pub, The Queens Head, is within five minutes walking distance, where you can sample the local atmosphere and enjoy a delicious meal. There is a large choice of other pubs and restaurants at Rye which is a 10/15 minute drive away. Parsonage Barn is near to several famous gardens, including Great Dixter, Sissinghurst and Pashley Manor. There are several National Trust properties within a short distance, the nearest being the 14th century fairytale castle of Bodiam Castle, complete with drawbridge and moat. From Bodiam you can also enjoy a magical ride on the Kent & Sussex steam railway through stunning scenery of the High Weald. We are a few miles away from the historic market towns of Battle, Rye and Tenterden, as well as being near to the coast. We are just over an hour from London by train, and from the Channel Tunnel and the port of Dover. The cottage is directly on the famous 1066 Walk, which retraces the actual footsteps of William the Conqueror from Pevensey via Battle to Rye, passing through stunning Sussex countryside and takes you through ancient towns and villages, over hillsides and through woodland, passing oast houses and windmills along the way. Icklesham village is located approximately six miles east of Hastings on the A259, the Hastings to Rye Road. The village has two public houses. There is a hourly bus service a few minutes walk from the cottage with easy access to both Hastings, Rye and beyond towards Eastbourne and Brighton - by bus or train. Below are the closest train stations: Winchelsea Railway Station Hastings Rye Railway Station Set between Rye & Hastings, buses to both towns, railway stations in both towns. Included: Wi-Fi, TV with Sky Q (Movies, Sports etc) Netflix and Amazon tv. Electric Fireplace, and Central Heating. Ideal for short breaks and long weekends. Lovely pub ; The Queens Head, Icklesham, great food and award winning beer! within walking distance. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, salt, pepper & cooking oil provided. I will leave you fresh milk for your arrival. Fridge/freezer, Microwave, Full oven/grill, toaster, kettle & sink All bedding & towels supplied ✅ Iron & Ironing board ✅ Hairdryer ✅
