On a quiet lane off the A38 outside South Brent village. Close to Dartmoor and the beaches. Midway to Exeter and Plymouth and a stop to Cornwall. Views from the grounds overlooking Dartmoor are exceptional. The House is spacious , with bedroom, sitting room, bathroom and kitchen. From fresh bedding and soft towels, to ground coffee ,tea and milk, LogBurner with plentiful wood. central heating and wifi. Park outside and enjoy access to Devon from this perfect location. This rustic earth house was built in the traditional earth-house style, with walls made from old tyres and filled with the earth that was excavated from the site the house is built on. The water supply originates in the moor's springs and (as it has passed filtration) when you drink the tap water you will find it tastes sweet and clean! When you open the door to the earth house (which will be yours exclusively), you will find a mix of old and new: reclaimed characterful pieces will add a rustic feel, whilst the central heating and shower will make your stay comfortable .From the minute you turn the key, the entire cottage is yours! .The stables has a rustic spacious double bedroom, a large bathroom and luxurious shower. You will have your own equipped kitchen, comfortable sitting room with log burner, and plentiful wood which we will supply for you. I provide freshly ground coffee tea and sugar and complimentary milk in the fridge. Outside and apart from the views already mentioned is an outdoor dining area and barbecue space. I can provide a barbeque and charcoal for £ 10 ,or bring your own disposable one with you. Infants are welcome, as are well behaved dogs. (please just check with me first before booking). We make a charge if £15 for a dog guest payable at time CNN if cv booking. Step outside and you will find a pretty dining area - a sun trap with great views , all in its own secluded grounds, with ample parking. The cottage is in the ideal location for South Devon. you will find Totnes, South Brent and Ivybridge on your doorstep as well as being 5 minutes from Dartmoor, and only a 20 minute drive from Devon's famous sandy beaches. For the business traveller, our cottage is only a 20 minute drive to Plymouth and 35 minutes to historical Exeter. You will not just fall in love with our cottage but also the location. The perfect base for all that Devon has to offer. There are no steps or hazards and we are disabled and wheelchair friendly. Outside the property is a sunny secluded area for dining or sitting out.inside there is a breakfast bar for eating or lap trays provided to take meals .You may wish to admire the views from the fields above or sit in the swing seat and watch the sun set . On the upper level is another open sunny area with a trampoline. Great for children and grown ups alike. Please ensure you are happy with the use of it before using as we cannot be responsible for you . To the side is a nice shaded area for relaxing. In winter ,light the log burner and make yourselves cosy indoors . There are board games and a good sized TV. A music system is provided along with a whole range of LPs . Please feel free to bring your own tapes and records as well and enjoy music the old fashioned way! We are easily accessed from the A 38 and situated midway between Exeter and Plymouth. 1 mile nearby is the charming moorland village of South Brent with all the facilities you would expect from a working village . Dartmoor is just acros the valley and good views of it are available from the fields at the property. The fantastic beaches of south Devon are a short drive away as are the interesting towns of Totnes and Dartmouth. The main line railway station is at Totnes , only 5 miles away. Dartmoor is only 10 minutes drive away. the beaches are 15 minutes drive. A long-time South Devon local, there is not much that I don't know about this area. We do have two pets, but they are not allowed in the accommodation. Our friendly little dog, Ella, lives on the property. She is well behaved. If you like cuddles, great! But if you are not a dog lover, don't worry as she will not be in your way. We also have a ginger tabby but you will be lucky if you can find him!
