Indulge ~ Pamper ~ Relax!
Welcome to Bowerbird Retreat! Your Luxury Sunshine Coast Hinterland Retreat, Bird Sanctuary & Nature-Lover’s Paradise! Treat yourself to complimentary breakfast with the birds, wine & cheese or champagne & strawberries and a deep, nurturing aromatic bath! Spread your wings, relax, recharge and reconnect! Perched in the heart of Mapleton Village, enjoy an easy walk to access essentials, or a short, scenic drive to explore Maleny, Montville, Noosa and Maroochydore. Creating deeply nurturing, restorative spaces and experiences is my passion and I take pleasure in sharing my unique retreat with you. Inspired by the bowerbird’s finesse and resourcefulness, I have curated an eclectic mix of old-world and contemporary furnishings and styled the spacious rooms with relaxation and supreme comfort in mind. The Master King Suite features a luxurious premium plush mattress and Sheridan bedlinen to nurture you in deep nested sleep, with the soft glow and warmth of the fireplace crackling nearby. Wake to the call of the whipbirds or snuggle in together...Overlooking the deck, you will feel enveloped by a leafy sanctuary ~ roses, camellias, azaleas, Australian natives and fruit trees thrive and sustain a magnificent array of bird life! The birds enjoy company and adore hand feeding... Rise early for an interactive breakfast with the cockatoos and lorikeets, share your bbq with the kookaburras, magpies and butcher birds, soak up the sunshine while you doze on the deck, cradled by the calls of the catbird, soft foraging of ground dwellers and perhaps a special visit from the bower birds! Satin Bowerbirds have made this garden their home for 15+ years now! The male and female surprise me on the deck now and then, usually when I am relaxing! Should you dare to explore the wild, rambling garden that cascades from the rear deck, (I am forever taming it!), you are most likely to discover the male’s “bower” decorated in tid-bits and snippets of blue, ready for courting!! Bowerbird Retreat is exclusively yours. My caretaking residence is a separate space on the left side of the house. Guests have complete privacy and peace, with the benefit of receiving my special care and catering to suit your needs... Roses for romantic occasions, comforting meals, grazing boards, picnics, bbqs, catering for intimate gatherings, can be crafted for you, simply message me to plan your bespoke retreat and/or intimate event (POA). From the front you will greet a quaint cottage under a canopy of green. The whole driveway is yours for parking (2 cars fit comfortably). There is also a night-sensor light and street light. You also have two options for entry which is great for small groups and people with special needs requiring support for accessibility: The front door is accessed via a lush, landscaped garden with stepping stones and/or direct access to the rumpus room via a flat concrete path adjoining the driveway. The main entrance opens into a large sitting room with formal appeal in neutral tones, perfect for taking tea, enjoying a quiet drink and perhaps a game of chess. This room forms the backdrop for the master king suite, which opens onto the expansive deck, which is perfect for entertaining and especially nice for children to spread out comfortably to play. Three metre bifold doors and a sliding screen offer continuity between these spaces if you choose. On a rainy day or frosty morning, it is lovely to curl up in the warmth sipping a velvety hot chocolate or easing into a little business on your laptop with a stunning green backdrop. The expansive deck overlooking a majestic macadamia tree is perfect for long, lazy brunches, sunset drinks and intimate gatherings, equipped with a new 4-burner bbq (that also does roast, pizza and stirfry), a 4-seater outdoor lounge, 6-seat dining table and a bar with 2 stools, citronella lanterns and outdoor lighting. A separate, spacious kitchen, dining suite with fire place and welcoming rumpus room are positioned on the right side of the main entry, living room and master king suite. The kitchen is fully equipped, with plenty of bench space for meal-prep, a four-burner gas stove with saucepans, frying pan, wok, toaster and a family-size Samsung microwave. A padded high chair also comfortably fits. The buffet offers a fully stocked minibar with sweet and savoury snacks and variety of drinks. The chandelier, led light strips and candles offer options for you to experience a range of moods. The TV is above the dresser with a set top box for Netflix. Foxtel can be offered on request. High speed, unlimited wifi ensures multiple devices function efficiently. A glass desk and velvet swivel chair in the far corner offer a separate work space, or area for brides to have their hair and makeup done with lots of natural light.
