Blue room in charming chambre d'hôte with views

Le Petit Canard (The Little Duck) is a 100+year old farmhouse opened as a Chambre d'hôte in July 2016 after the house was lovingly renovated. We have a large garden & terrace with a well, stone features & lots of outdoor seating (both shaded & sunny) to have breakfast or just to relax and maybe read a book. There is a seasonal plunge pool, sun loungers and a decadent jacuzzi hot tub to relax in, all with a beautiful view. There is free wifi and outdoor games such as croquet and boules. The house has been developed to offer comfort and space whilst retaining it's original features, character and charm. THE BLUE ROOM Is a very spacious room with a large SuperKing Bed that can sleep from 2-5 people. It is a very flexible room that sleeps up to 5 people as a family room - a SuperKing Bed with up to 3 single beds added or laid out as a dormitory style room with 5 single beds. The Blue room has views of the terrace, garden and rolling fields beyond. The beds are of excellent quality and are very comfortable, there is also a wardrobe, shelving, hairdryer, tea & coffee making facilities, a spacious shower with towels and toiletries provided and an international shaving socket. BREAKFAST/EVENING MEALS A large continental breakfast of Orange Juice, Tea, Coffee, Yoghurt, Croissant, Chocolatine, Cereal, Toast and jams, Eggs from our hens and Seasonal Fruit from the garden is included in the price and there is the option of ordering continental meats, cheese and bread instead when booking, or indeed a cooked English breakfast for a small supplement. Breakfast is served by the owners in the dining room or outside on the terrace. Upon prior request, evening meals can be shared at the owner's table - Table d'hôte. We offer meals of a french or english style from a light simple supper to a full 4 course meal with cheese. You will have access to our guest lounge/dining room with a tv that has french and english satellite channels as well as our spacious terrace and garden with a swing seat and sun loungers to sun bathe, read a book or just to relax and look at the view with a glass in your hand. Table d'hote meals are available when requested in advance. There is free on-site parking and free Wifi. We will be on hand when you need help, info or just a chat. Living at the property we are there to welcome guests on arrival, show you round the facilities and assist wherever possible. We are very happy to help guests with suggestions of where to go, and how to get there and give information of events that may be on to make the most of your visit to the area. We are in a peaceful location in the countryside yet only 11km away from the very practical town of Carmaux which has many shops, supermarkets and restaurants etc. SIGHTSEEING A great location for visiting the UNESCO world heritage city of Albi - complete with stunning cathedral & Toulouse Lautrec museum 25km, and historic villages such as Monestiés 18km, Sauveterre de Rouergue with beautiful stone arched central square 28km, the hilltop bastide town of Cordes-su-Ciel 33km and Najac with its hilltop castle 44km all with cafés, restaurants, markets and charming shops to browse. Albi also boasts a world renowned golf course - Golf d'Albi Labordes. The Lac de La Roucarié is 11 km away for walking, kayak, pedloe, swimming etc. and Cap Découverte adventure park has cable water skiing, skiing and snowboarding, zip wires, carting etc. and it's own beach just 17km away. This area is beautiful for walking and cycling and the owners are happy to share local maps and routes (and there are marked routes) to enjoy the area. We are supported by Rodez (58km) and Toulouse (107km) airports both with car hire and regular train connections. Trains go directly from Rodez or Toulouse to our nearest station at Carmaux (12km) (also calling at Albi). EVENING MEALS You could choose to eat out in the day and dine with us at night at the hosts table (from a light supper to a 4 course meal) where you will be very welcome and able to chat some more about the beautiful Tarn region. (please request 24hrs in advance.) Or you could go out in the evening to one of the many restaurants available – Tanus 8km, Carmaux 11km, Pampelonne 13km or Albi 25km.
