Chapters Gite

Our pretty three bedroom Gite is located in a small, quiet,hamlet, a short walk from the market town of Aigre, with all commerce. Our comfortable accommodation includes an open plan dining and living area with a well equipped kitchen. Upstairs there is 1 double bedroom with a balcony and one twin bedroom and a further double bedroom downstairs. The private garden has a barbeque and a covered area for al-fresco dining. There are rivers, cycling and walking routes within a few 100m of the gite. Enjoy a coffee or glass of wine on the balcony or simply laze in the garden on the sunbeds, Enjoy the quiet of the countryside - look out for red squirrels in the garden. catch up on old videos or read a book - just enjoy time to do nothing. Entire House with Private parking and private garden. We live opposite the gite and are available to give information and advice on the best places to visit in the area. Happy to help with any questions you may have of things to do, transport links, local festivals times of opening of shops, and restaurants or any other questions. We are flexible on arrival and departure days for holidays. Within 10 minutes walking distance is the lovely market town of Aigre, with various shops and a few cafe/bar restaurants. There is a market twice a week. There are a couple of lakes for swimming, with sandy beaches within 15 minutes drive and numerous rivers and waterways for kayaking or fishing. Visit the Chateau at la Rochefoucauld or one of the distilleries in Jarnac or Cognac. Aigre is just 15 minutes from the N10, linking us to Poitier (visit Futureoscope park) in the North and Bordeaux in the south. There is an Sncf railway in Ruffec (15min drive) and main rail networks to Paris, in Angouleme, 30km away. Closest airports are Limoges and La Rochelle, both approx. 1hr 30minutes drive and Bordeaux at about 1hr 45min drive. we are within a couple of minutes Walks - a number of walking (including the Camino de Santiago) and cycling routes. Currently, all bookings are accepted in line with current Government restrictions. We are ensuring that there is at least 1 full day between our bookings to allow us time to deep clean the Gite.
