Honey Fields Orchard Cottage

Honey Fields Cottage is set in beautiful park-like gardens within an avocado orchard, with all day sun. It has a cosy fireplace & beautiful sunset views over the Kaimai Ranges - a little piece of paradise! The perfect retreat for a romantic get-away from city life, the cottage is ideal for one couple with a big comfy queen sized bed in the main bedroom. The 2nd bedroom also has a comfy queen sized bed. Access to the main bedroom is either through the 2nd bedroom or via the front patio. The cottage is in it's own private garden area with patio dining areas for morning and evening sun, a relaxing double hammock under the trees, and lovely garden views over the Tauranga Harbour. It is set up a long driveway with no traffic noise, just lots of birdsong. The hosts, Pete & Lou, try not to be intrusive. However they will be on hand to offer any help or advice you may wish for. When you arrive you will be welcomed with fresh flowers and fruit from our home orchard as well as plenty of avocados of course. A short drive down the road is Kauri Point Wharf, a favourite local fishing spot for catching kingfish, snapper and john dory as well as seeing the occasional pod of orcas. If you love to swim you can enjoy the surf of nearby Waihi Beach or the beautiful flat harbour water within Tauranga Harbour. Bike riders can enjoy the local country roads or head to Karangahake Gorge to bike the Rail Trail. If you love to walk there's the beautiful Orokawa Beach walk, starting from the northern end of Waihi Beach, the Kaimai Ranges tracks, the Karangahake Gorge walks or simply stroll down the road and around the coastal reserve from Kauri Point to Ongare Point. Finish your day with a relaxing soak in the thermally heated hot pools at Athenree. There's no public transport so you'll need a vehicle. The kitchen comes equipped with a small bench-top oven, single hot plate and a microwave. There is also a Weber barbeque with hot plate outside, perfect for cooking anything from bacon and eggs to a full roast. Access to the master bedroom is thru the 2nd bedroom, or it can be accessed through the outside patio.
