Hidden little house in the middle of Essen-Kettwig's Old Town. Tudor style and at least 300 years old. Hidden little house in the middle of Essen-Kettwig's Old Town. Tudor style and at least 300 years old. The kitchen is fully equipped with: stove, oven, freezer, fridge, microwave, coffee maker and water cooker as well as plenty of dishes and utensils. The dining room has a table and two chairs, The bedroom is large and has a seating area. The bath has a free-standing bathtub. The bed is a waterbed so it's warm in the winter and can be cool in the summer. The house has 55 square meters (500 square feet) with a lovely small private yard/patio. There are plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance as well as grocery stores, post office, boutiques.. pretty much everything you need. In addition to the quaint cobblestone streets the river Ruhr is only two minutes away by foot and is absolutely beautiful for a walk or a boat ride. Or you can take a walk through the woods, also only minutes away. Kettwig is conveniently situated between Duesseldorf and Essen and the trade fairs can be reached within 25 minutes. The airport is a 20 minute drive and the train station a 3 minute drive or 10 minute walk. The patio belongs to the house and is for your use only. I am available to hear your needs or answer questions but won’t bother you otherwise. Several restaurants within walking distance: Carpofino is about a 50 second walk, nice Italian place moderate prices. Across the street is a bistro/ bar Balou. Another 40 seconds down the same street is Brueckenschenke a rustic German bar and restaurant, inexpensive. There is also an ice cream parlour on the corner and a quaint little cake shop/ cafe. A bit further down the same street is a nice German restaurant the Parliament and another the Stiege. There are several more in the old town. None more than a 5 minute walk. You are minutes away from the buses and about a 10 minute walk to the s-train station which will take you to the main stations in Dusseldorf and Essen within 25 minutes I have added the option for a third person due to many requests but I want to make it clear that it is a fold out cube mattress that would lay out on the floor. There is no extra room. It is a very basic option good for a child or person who’s okay with it. I will of course provide bedding.
