Lovely modern self-contained apartment set in the Castle Conservation area of Lancaster town centre and 2 minutes walk from the railway station. This delightful and quirky property is set in a historic building and is located on a main street above a restaurant. The main living space and master bedroom has views of Lancaster Castle and all of the many shops, restaurants, historic buildings and pubs are within a few minutes walk. An added benefit is the outside space with a fantastic sunny patio. What makes our apartment unique is the handy central location, the stunning castle views, the quirky nature of the property - it is said that the building once formed part of a stable block for the castle, and the fabulous outside space. Guests will have on foot access to Lancaster Castle, the Museum, Library, the Priory, the Maritime Museum, Vue Cinema, the Dukes Theatre and the Grand Theatre. Lancaster Tourist Information Office is located on the same road as the apartment. All of the city centre shops, where local food markets are held every Saturday and Wednesday, are a short stroll away as are the assortment of restaurants, takeaways, cafe's, coffee houses and pubs (check out the Robert Gillow, John O'Gaunt and Stonewell Tavern, all of which host regular live music events). The stunning and beautiful Ashton Memorial, Butterfly House and Williamson's Park is a 5 minute drive away, where regular promenade open air family theatre events are held during the summer. Wherever possible, we will remain available via text, email and mobile during your stay. In the apartment itself we have left both a guest apartment manual and a tourist information manual which contains details on local activities and places of interest and public transport schedules. Both of which are left for the convenience of our guests during their stay. From our apartment you can walk to the canal in 5 minutes, you can access the lovely Fairfield nature reserve in 5 minutes, again, on foot, and we are only minutes away from the cycle track where you can cycle to the seaside at Morecambe in 25 minutes - a city centre location with canals, nature and the seaside all within reach, no car necessary. If you can, bring your bikes, it is well worth it. Our apartment is on the same road as Lancaster railway station, where regular trains operate on the 'West Coast Route' which runs from London Euston to both Glasgow and Edinburgh. Regular trains also operate to Morecambe and the lovely Lake District National Park. On common Garden Street, which is a 5 minute walk from the apartment, you can access many of the main bus routes, including regular services to, and from, Lancaster University and the University of Cumbria. There are numerous taxi services that operate throughout the city.
