Cosy converted Chapel in the Somerset Levels
Mead Chapel is a beautiful detached 1920s chapel conversion set in one of Somerset’s prettiest villages. A great spot for those looking for a peaceful, relaxing holiday or wishing to enjoy all that Somerset has to offer. Located in the wildlife rich Somerset levels walkers will be spoilt for choice. There are many top class pubs and restaurants near by, along with local shopping and days out. Immediately upon entering this beautiful chapel guests will find themselves in a hall, a perfect place to hang coats or store muddy boots after a long walk in the countryside. From here enter the beautiful open-plan living area with a feature chandelier, original stained glass windows, wall hangings and a cosy sofa - a perfect place for a quiet or romantic break away. Settle in for a snug evening with a bottle of wine and a film on the TV. Internet is provided with speeds of around 30mps. Thick stone walls give a wonderful sense of tranquillity, whilst the double height of the ceiling creates a feeling of space and light. There is solid oak flooring and staircase and traditionally made oak doors to add to the atmosphere. The perfectly equipped kitchen is cleverly fitted at one end of the living space with an electric oven and hob, fridge, microwave and coffee machine. Climb the wooden staircase to the galleried bedroom above, with its oak king size bed nestled under the eaves, with low sloping ceilings embracing the charm and character of this wonderful chapel. The spacious shower room can be found on the ground floor with a large walk in shower, sink with complimentary toiletries and WC. There is a two pin socket for electric shavers and toothbrush charging. Outside there is a seating area to the front of the chapel with grass running either side, a perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee, or glass of wine and watch the world go by! There is on street parking in front of the chapel. There is also an outside storage shed for guests who wish to bring bicycles on which to explore the area. In the shed is also a hose for cleaning muddy walking boots. Whole house I live a few minutes away and I am available if needed The Village is a very quiet pretty area, there is a local pub just around the corner and a phone box "library" just a short stroll from the house. There is on street parking outside the house. (Please park on the opposite side of the road to avoid blocking the street.) Own car would be essential, but there is a shed to store bikes in if you wish to bring your own and explore the area that way. A welcome hamper is provided with tea, coffee, milk etc We cannot take any bookings for more than 3 weeks due to planning restrictions on the property. The property is strictly no smoking. Naked flames such as candles and barbecues are not allowed.
