Ideal for walking or cycling around the many well marked tree lined rural lanes 1km to the dramatic rocky waters of the river Gartempe, with small swimming beach, licensed fishing, canoeing - sailing, tennis and horse riding nearby. Local village shops and bar are only 1.5 km, the historic market town of Montmorillon 15 mins drive. In addition there is a wealth of days-out opportunties from animal parks to the famous Futuroscope theme park (less than an hour away) Visit the beautiful historic cities of Poitiers or Limoges and the memorial village of Oradour sur Glane. Our organic smallholding offers a restored self contained cottage with exposed beams and stonework, adjoining our home. Private landscaped garden borders the duck pond, is a great favourite with our guests who enjoy relaxing on the terrace sipping a glass of wine and being amused by the ducks and wildlife on the pond. The terrace is close to the kitchen, perfect for outdoor dining and BBQ's (children must be supervised at all times). Their own cottage, their garden & terrace plus access to our 11 acres. Most clients like a chat on a daily basis but you can be as private as you wish. The stressless rural atmosphere. We recommend a car to visit shops & attractions but it is ideal for cycling & walking using the network of small chemins.
