In a perfect attempt to mix the old and the new houses this crafted apartment will be the perfect base for exploring the best of Sheffield best coffee, cafes, hidden bars and fantastic dining options. Bessemer House was built in 1901 to serve as the Head Office for the Bessemer Steel Company, founded by Sir Henry Bessemer who, in the 1850s discovered an inexpensive new way to mass-produce steel. Sir Henry moved to Sheffield in 1859 and established the first commercial Bessemer melting shop on the other side of Carlisle Street. The Bessemer process was probably one of the most important contributions to the Industrial Revolution. The Bessemer boom made Sheffield the kings of world steel. Its products were sent all over the world, bringing wealth and prosperity to Sheffield, giving us the name, Steel City.
