Waterman Bay itself is a stunning cove that is protected by a reef, making it ideal for swimming, snorkelling and surfing. If your a bit peckish after a day at the beach you will be able to grab a bite to eat and a coffee across the road at Bay 33 Cafe. Or maybe you can watch the sun set as you eat dinner at the Ocean Dragon restaurant. Next to the bay is the beautifully landscaped park wit a fully fenced playground overlooking the water. It also has a large grassed area where you can kick back and soak up the sun with a glass of wine and cook dinner on the well maintained BBQ's as you watch the end to another beautiful day at Watermans Bay. Only a few km's north and you will find yourself at the iconic Sorrento Quay and AQWA ( Aquarium of WA). Sorrento Quay is a popular tourist attraction featuring restaurants, cafes, shopping and live entertainment. Built around the water you can spend your day walking the boardwalks, swimming and eating, or you can head out later in the evening for the nightlife.Featuring a beautiful cove for swimming and open late everyday of the year you will always find something to do. This is where you can also book your boat cruises to Rottnest, Perth and Fremantle and also fishing charters and wine tours. AQWA - WA's aquarium is located at the back of Sorrento Quay and features WA marine life, touch pools and seal pools and is open from 10am till 5pm daily. Just behind the retreat is Star Swamp reserve. This is an untouched bushland with plenty of wild life. Star swamp is an extensive area perfect for a leisurely stroll or bike ride. Hammersley Public Golf Course is only 3km's away. Shopping locally is within walking distance. A 10 minute stroll will get you to the locally owned and operated supermarket, bottle shop, post office, chemist, hairdresser, beautician, restaurants and a 24 hour gym. A bus is available that can get you up and down the coastline and to the shops and the closet train station. A quick train ride can get you right into the heart of Perth city.
