Twin room in comfortable rural home
On a few acres of land in a rural neighbourhood on the outskirts of Sydney, ourplace provides a peaceful and comfortable place to stay among orchards and gardens, close to parks and bushland, but only a bit over an hour to be in the centre of Sydney. The local shopping centre and cafes are an easy walk, but a car would be best to explore the wider area and to access the train station. There are queen rooms available on other listings if you are travelling with family or a larger group. The room is large and bright with new king single beds, two armchairs and a built in wardrobe, reading lamps and a bookcase. The private lockable bathroom is down the hallway. The window looks out onto a stone paved area and a shady garden. Guests have the bedroom and bathroom as private space. Adjoining bedrooms, if not occupied by your own party, with be free to store suitcases and so on. Guests can have access to the lower floor of the house, including laundry, kitchen/family room, lounge/dining/tv room, and outside deck. The gardens and orchards can be walked around freely. As we are retired, at least one of us will be on the property to ask about directions, recommendations, or any other need. We like to meet people and chat with guests, but also realise that travellers like to have privacy and their own space. Our neighbourhood is a quiet rural suburb set around a village with good cafes, supermarkets, pharmacy, newsagent, and some homewares and gifts. We are a 15-20 minute walk from the village. If you have a car, Fagan Park with lakes, playgrounds and gardens is about 3 minutes by car. About 15 minutes away is Berowra Waters, where you can eat by the river, or hire a boat. Bushland surrounds our area, and there are some bushtracks close by. A car is an advantage getting around this area, but there is a bus into the city about 10 minutes away and also a 20 minute drive to a direct and regular train service into the city and up the coast to the Central Coast and Newcastle. If visiting the city, the train from Hornsby is an easy and quick way to go. (about 90 minutes altogether from our place into the city centre)
