Sea front Stunning views , quiet garden, in town
This pretty cottage is set in the most stunning location it sits on a perch in oldest part of Lerici . It has three bedrooms ,four bathrooms, a living room , kitchen two terraces and the wild garden backs directly on to the sea . It has recently been restored The house is in the peaceful quiet historic part of town in a little piazza next to three or four other houses by the castle. But its 2 minutes from all the hubub and shops and bars It is quite a private house with two terraces , the bottom one is wonderfully breezy and very private. You can walk down to the beach from the back garden. THINGS TO DO; 1. Scuba diving school in san terenzo called TRIBU’ 2. you can hire a motor boat for the day and visit the ;cinque terre' or go to the island of Palmaria; even camp on a deserted beach 3. Walk the cinque terre and many other trails 4. Visit Tellaro and Fiascherino which are beautiful unesco towns very close by. 5. you can hire a sailing boat , which is just at the bottom of the castle steps (all 300of them) 6.Cycling is fantastic , many people come just for this reason 7. Sarzana is a lovely town which is close by. Dining is much cheaper and better than Lerici. 8.Lucca the town is about a 40 min drive. 9. within half an hour you can visit the marble quarries 10.Pietra Santa is a beautiful town worth visiting … This is where Michelangelo bought his marble from 11.Genova is an hour away and a wonderful train ride / Florence is also approximately 1-2 hours away. 12 There are also many feste for example ‘the snail festival’, the ‘Muscoli ‘ festival etc 13. Portovenere has a great Madonna festa in July where they carry the Madonna on the sea at night surrounded by candles 14. There is a small village called Nicola on top of a hill/mountain with fantastic sea views and a lovely restaurant called Da Fiorella At the bottom of the same village, very close by you can taste and buy local wine tasting at ‘LUNAE’ .. a lovely place to visit, great roman ruins. 15. La Spezia is a commercial port has a great food and fish market …. much cheaper than Lerici 16. The fishing boats bring in fish every morning at the bottom of the stairs (il molo) 17. On Saturday morning there is a really good market in Lerici 18. The posh market is in ‘Forte dei Marmi 19. There is a wonderful museum called Luni which has a Roman amphitheatre , Roman marble sculptures and mosaics. FOOD 1. Frantoio in Lerici is quite nice - it is mainly fish 2. Follia in the piazza have very good value pizza’s 3. Bonta’ Nascoste has wonderful food but expensive (i think it only seats 12 but worth trying 4. La Creuza de Mauri in San Terenzo ( the village 1 km next door to Lerici ) is also amazing . it’s nice to walk there on the sea front Sarzana has many restaurants all much cheaper and generally far better than Lerici 5. La scaletta family restaurant is in Sarzana it has great food and is great value … you spend 10-25 euros for a 5 course meal including wine. 6. Inferno is also good value which is in La Spezia 7. All the ice cream places are Fabulous 8.The castle often has exhibitions 9. There are operettas in the castle or in the piazza in Lerici ; 1.
