Artists residence, occasionally a homestay.

Our home is built on a ridge at 5400feet, with sunset and Himalayan views, and 2 BIG dogs . we are open to guests occasionally so pls inquire and will let you know if dates are possible. We have 2 double bedrooms. They are priced at 16.5k and 20k Per room Per night. meals included. PLEASE do read description before booking! also, the CALENDAR is not Updated here. Additional mattress children above min. 8 yrs of age. We request no children below 8 years of age. The house has many nooks and corners, plenty of books and outdoor lounging areas, and the possibility of going for a walk in any direction. THe 2nd floor suite, Room 1, is 20k/night with a terrace, bedroom, sitting room, closet area and sunroom. THe 2nd room for 16.5k has no balcony, but is a few steps away from the garden seating. We serve no food in the rooms. there is no food room service, except coffee/tea.. We have an indoor outdoor house and like to keep the rooms food free. Also request guests to not bring their nannies and drivers etc. the entire house can not be rented out. it is a homestay, not a villa. Guest is welcome to all areas of the house.. USha, an artist and designer, owns and lives in the house, usually painting in her studio, or walking the hillside with her dogs, or enjoying a coffee with music in the verandah..shes happy to take our guests for long walks in any direction.. dogs are never tied! Nestled between 2 hills on a a mountain top.. Once here you most probably will not have any reason to go down the hill till your date of departure.. If you feel like driving around you can visit Kasauli town 20 minutes away. However most guests are happy to lounge around our property and go for day hikes from our village. The last approach to the house is on foot, about 2 minutes walk uphill on a dirt track. Drive: 6 hours from Delhi. ( with farmers protest more like 8) 2 hours from chandigarh. Train: 4 hours from New Delhi to Kalka. Taxi from Kalka to our hill is 1.5 hours. Once you reach the bottom of our hill, shaktighat, a local jeep taxi will have to be hired by you to bring you up., they charge approx rs 500 one way. its about a 2 minute drive up followed by a 1 minute walk. Your luggage will be carried up ofcourse.
