Whippletree Cottage near Bath
Just a 20 minute drive from Bath or Wells, Whippletree Cottage sleeps four people. An open plan kitchen/living room and lovely walk in shower room complete the picture, not to mention underfloor heating throughout and a wood burner to keep you cosy on those winter evenings. There is a stunning view across the Mendip hills from your garden which has a wooden table and chairs. Unfortunately we are not able to accommodate dogs in Whippletree Cottage. Whippletree Cottage offers excellent self catering holiday accommodation. It has an open plan kitchen/living area and a lovely walk in shower room. The master bedroom on the mezzanine floor has a king sized bed with views across the Mendip Hills. The second bedroom is located on the ground floor next to the shower room and has a choice of either two single beds or a super king. The secluded garden looks out across the Mendip hills and has a wooden table and chairs. Guests have use of the cottage during their stay as well as a laundry room just a few yards from the building. This has a washing machine, tumble dryer and large fridge freezer for additional items if there is no room in the cottage. My husband and I live next door in the farmhouse and we also have other holiday lets on the farm so there is usually someone around if you have any queries. This area of Somerset has fantastic scenery, there is a stunning view from the garden across the Mendip Hills and of course the cities of Bath, Bristol and Wells are all within easy reach. Timsbury village is just one mile away with a café, fish&chip shop and chemist as well as a useful Co-op which is open long hours 7 days a week. The city of Bath is just seven miles from us and about a 20 minute drive. Alternatively there is an excellent park and ride bus service which you will pass on the way into the city. Like many rural areas, public transport is not convenient for visiting many of the local attractions. We always recommend guests bring their own car to maximise their enjoyment of their holiday. We have a travel cot, high chair, stair gates and fire guard that guests can use if required. Whippletree Cottage is one of four holiday properties at Withy Mills Farm so you may have neighbours staying in the adjacent cottages. However you have your own garden with wooden table and chairs and are screened from your next door neighbour by a beech hedge. Withy Mills Farm is a working dairy farm so expect to see tractors, animals and some farm smells at different times of the year. Most of the heavy farm work is carried out further away from the cottages so it need not affect your stay. We recommend guests have their own car to fully enjoy their stay as public transport is extremely limited.
