Somerset Hideaway: Shepherd Huts + home comforts
Relax in beautifully wild surroundings in our cosy and comfortable Shepherd Huts. Our place is the ideal glamping experience for couples seeking a romantic escape, or solo adventurers and nature explorers who would like some home comforts too. Explore all the delights Somerset has to offer, including stunning scenery and rare wildlife right on your doorstep. Visit cider distilleries to test our local scrumpy or rent a canoe to explore the Somerset Levels (not recommended at the same time!) In the morning, you'll open your door to a magical environment between two ponds, rolling fields, a nature garden and a magnificent arboretum. Our Shepherd Huts are larger than usual as we have joined them by a wooden deck and garden area where you can sit and enjoy the sunset. At night, you’ll be able to look up and gaze at stars as far as the eye can see. The huts are warm and cosy, with traditional sheeps wool lined walls and underfloor heating to keep your toes toasty. In one hut is a large luxurious bed, with comfortable bedding, and a sofa to put your feet up. The second hut has a bathroom and small kitchen, with a microwave, kettle and a sink for washing up. The bathroom has a luxury shower, with a large showerhead. Perfect to relax, warm-up and get clean after a muddy walk around Somerset. Breakfast includes simple bits and bobs to tide you over, including granola and milk, bread, butter and jam. We also have a café on our farm - Farm and Field Café open Wednesday to Sunday, (due to the pandemic please check opening times, currently serving takeaways Thursday to Sunday only) serving amazing breakfasts, loaded sandwiches, salads, burgers, curries, pizzas along with seasonal specials (menus vary from day to day) with scrumptious cakes for dessert and a range of teas and coffees, soft and alcoholic drinks. There is also a bookable takeaway service on certain evenings. Guests staying in our Shepherd Huts will be given a discount voucher to use each time they visit the café! Also on our Farm we have The White Barn, a brand new wedding and events venue as well as a Frogmary Flowers which works perfectly alongside the café and White Barn. Apologies our Shepherd Huts are unsuitable for pets. You can enjoy a little piece of paradise in our beautifully designed Shepherd Huts. With your very own deck and garden area, you can relax and enjoy the exquisite location as much as we do. Claire and I live just across the road, our huts our managed by Catherine who will be there to welcome you upon your arrival and between us, we will be around during your stay if you need anything. We are very happy to answer any of your questions or offer advice on fun days out, quirky restaurants and local delights you simply must sample.
