Inside, Woodbine is a typical, cosy, mid-19th century Cotswold cottage with a kitchen-dining room and living room and cloakroom on the ground floor, two bedrooms and two bathrooms on the first floor and two single bedrooms on the top floor in the converted attic. Unusually for its age, Woodbine Cottage has windows to the front and rear, making it a light and bright cottage yet with plenty of original 1800s features. To the rear of the cottage is a large, beautifully planted garden on two levels; the top level has a patio with two seating areas and a smooth lawn - ideally suited for playing croquet with the set that's provided - and a lower level, down two steps, to a more informally planted area with a towering willow tree and an original, 19th century rill (water course) running through it. Ground Floor Entrance Hall: Step through the front door into the hallway where you will find stairs leading to the two upper floors, a door to the right leading into the dining room-kitchen, a door to the left leading to the living room and a passageway ahead through to the cloakroom, back door to the garden and the alternative entrance to the kitchen-dining room. Living Room: This cosy room features an exposed Cotswold stone wall, original beams and a wood burning stove. The room is furnished with a three-seater sofa and three armchairs placed to enjoy the woodburner and smart TV. Occasional tables and lamps provide plenty of places to curl up with a book and relax. A sideboard houses family games and a large pouf conceals a wide choice of DVDs. French windows open out to the garden. Dining Room-Kitchen: At the centre of the light and bright dining room is a feature stone wall and open fireplace. A long, rectangular table comfortably seats six guests, while at the window is an original window seat, providing the perfect place to perch and watch the village life go by or chat to the chef in the adjoining kitchen. Two steps lead down into the kitchen: The fully equipped kitchen features a polished stone floor, with underfloor heating, a full range of appliances to cater to every chef's needs and a butler's sink looking out to the gorgeous garden. A door leads out of the kitchen into the back hallway where there is a cloakroom, hooks for hanging coats and plenty of room to keep outdoor shoes and boots. A door leads from here to the garden – perfect for easy access and carrying food and drinks out to the patio and seating area. First Floor Carpeted stairs with a banister lead up to the first-floor landing and the two double bedrooms (at the front of the house) and the two, family bathrooms (at the rear, overlooking the garden). Bedroom One - Master: This pretty cream-coloured bedroom is furnished in a style that complements the age of the house, with a king-size bed on a cream-coloured, Victorian-style bed frame, bedside tables (that double as trays – perfect for breakfast in bed), bedside reading lamps, and a wardrobe with hanging and storage space. Bedroom Two: Directly across the landing from the master bedroom is the second double bedroom, which is furnished with a standard-size double bed on a black and brass Victorian-style bed frame with bedside tables and reading lamps, and a wardrobe with hanging and storage space. Family Bathroom One: Sit back and relax in the lovely roll-top bath (with a central handheld shower attachment), while gazing out to the trees in the garden below. This spacious bathroom also has a toilet, washbasin with a mirror, a heated towel rail, and a lovely little window seat! Family Bathroom Two: The second bathroom also has a full-size bath, with an overhead rain shower, a toilet, a washbasin with a mirror, and a heated towel rail. Carpeted stairs with a banister leading up to the second floor where there are two single bedrooms. Please note: these stairs are very steep and are not suitable for very young guests or those with limited mobility. Second Floor The two single bedrooms are in the renovated and refurbished attic, tucked in under the eaves to either side of the staircase. Please be aware that both bedrooms have impressive original timbers and beams that run above the beds and are quite low – so do mind your head! Bedroom Three: A sweet little bedroom that's furnished with a standard single bed, bedside table and lamp, a chest of drawers and mirror, with a view at tree height up the hill! Bedroom Four: This is an equally dear little room that's furnished with a standard single bed, bedside table and lamp, a chest of drawers and mirror, with a view to the neighbouring garden. Outside To the front of the cottage is a grassy verge and the original, 19th century railing enclosing a narrow garden strip, with a gate to the front door. A wooden gate to the side of the cottage opens to reveal a beautifully planted garden on two levels; the top level has a patio with two seating areas and a lawn - ideally suited for playing croquet with the set that's provided - and a lower level, down two steps, to a more informally planted area with a towering willow tree and an ancient, water rill (man-made water course) passing from one side of the garden to the other with, during the wet months, water rushing along it. The garden can be accessed from inside through the back hallway door (beside the Kitchen) or through the French windows in the Living Room. An original outbuilding houses the extra fridge/freezer, the croquet set and cushions for the outside chairs. Guests arriving with bicycles may store their bikes here too. (Note: the washing machine is not plumbed in.) To the left-hand side of the cottage is a gravel drive with off-street parking for two small cars.
