Honeyhill residence

A new house built in an old fashioned way. Natural materials such as clay, wood and stone are incorporated in its interior. A unique artistic staircase made out of an old grape press is its centerpiece. The wooden features are all uniquely crafted what makes the accommodation quite special. There is a spacious living room with kitchen and a bathroom on the ground floor and two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. The residence has a big sunny terrace with a special outdoor bunk bed where you can also sleep during your stay. The house is an open space. There is a fireplace inside the house and an outdoor fireplace ideal for picnics. The residence is standing on the top of the hill where can enjoy the view and beautiful sunsets. The place is great for families, artistic souls and nature lovers. We've decided to create a this home in a tiny village outside Maribor called Medič, which translates Little Honey. That is why our residence bears the name Honey hill. There is a beekeeper near by, where you can buy local honey as well. Because of our love for nature we built an organic ecological house. The nearest public transport is 2 km away in Kamnica village, where there is also the nearest store. There is a 30 minutes walk to the nearest sight called the Devils rocks, a 60 minutes walk to a hill called Urban, and 2 km to a public swimming pool that is situated on an island on the river Drava. The city of Maribor is 4 km away, where you have different sights to see (Maribor castle, the oldest grapevine in the world,…). If you come with mountain bikes you will find your way around easily. Our host will welcome you at your arrival and will be available should you encounter any problems. Please let us know if you have any special wishes during your stay. Our philosophy is to offer privacy to our guests so we will not get in your way. During longer stays however we will maybe need to come to mawn the lawn or water the plants, but we will coordinate that with guests not to distrub their stay. The place is not far away from Pohorje (an Alpine mountain ridge), where there are a lot of hiking sites(30 – 40 min by car, you can also take the cable railway to the top and continue by foot from there): -Črno jezero (Black lake), -Šumik waterfall -Lovrenška jezera (Lovrenc lakes) There are numerous spa resorts around such as: Rogaška Slatina, Banovci and Ptuj (30 min by car).
