WiFi and full Sky TV package included. Come and go as you please. Equidistant between London and Cambridge in the village of Henham, Essex. Caldecote Annexe All on one level. Easy parking out the front. The space is not big, the shower room is very small and is right next to the kitchen area. The sofa bed is low when it is open and is only suitable for one adult. There is an ironing board and iron in the annexe. There is space for your travel cot and you need to provide your travel cot bedding. We now have an inflatable ready bed for a young child. There are two steps up from the gravelled path to the door at the back. Lights will trigger as you walk on the path. I will need to photograph your driving licence/ID or your passport on check-in please. Parking is on our drive. We are happy to help you if you need it, we will also leave you in peace if you don't need it. We are a normal, working family with older children. Tesco and other supermarkets will deliver here. Henham is a thriving village with an active, friendly community. Please remember this is a village and there isn’t a lot here. Please do not book here expecting shops and nightlife. On the other hand there are great walks and a pub that serves food 5 days (4 nights) a week only 10 minutes walk away. *You will need a car if you stay here*. Lots of local pubs serving great food & Yuva Indian restaurant in Debden, Yeoman’s cafe in Stansted, Bombay Butler Indian restaurant in Stansted. We are close to Audley End, Saffron Walden, Henry Moore Foundation (30 mins), Hatfield Forest (NT), 30 minutes from Freeport outlet village (Ralph Lauren,The North Face, Hugo Boss etc) for great shopping and a cinema. There’s a cinema in Bishop’s Stortford too. We enjoy Grantchester for the Orchard Tea Room and river walk and central Cambridge. Days out could be to Duxford Air Museum, Colchester, Kentwell Manor, Constable country, Wimpole Hall, Lavenham. Our favourite seaside to reach in an hour is Frinton. We are pretty much equidistant between Saffron Walden and Bishop’s Stortford. For travel into London - Elsenham station (55 minutes to Liverpool St) is a couple of miles away. Parking at the station costs £4 for the day (7 days a week). You will need 4 x £1 coins to pay. You must park only in the bays marked ‘pay and display’. Travel after 9.30am on weekdays is cheaper. Buy train tickets in advance. (Website hidden by Airbnb) for attraction discounts. The same train line also goes up to Cambridge too. Paradise Wildlife Park in Broxbourne is under an hour away. We are 6 miles from M11 junction 8. Buses in Henham are infrequent, taxis can be booked but if you are staying here a car is necessary. As our address is not easy to find please make sure your driver puts 'HIGHFIELDS' into his Sat nav/GPS. HIGHFIELDS is a private, gravelled road and has no signpost. It is clearly marked on online maps though. The space is just big enough for what we hope you will need. It’s approx 20ft long by 10ft wide in total. The entrance is at the back via a lit gravel path. Caldecote Annexe is 6 miles from Stansted airport, there are no planes overhead although you may hear them in the distance. We have a dog, he barks on occasion. We do not provide breakfast. We do provide cleaning and washing up supplies and tea/coffee, sugar etc. Starter loo rolls. Please ask before arrival if you need something in particular. You might like to bring food with you as our nearest big supermarkets are in Bishop’s Stortford (Tesco, Aldi, Sainsbury’s & Waitrose) or Saffron Walden (Waitrose, Tesco, Aldi). There’s a Tesco Express and Coop in Stansted and a One Stop in Elsenham.
