Muizenberg Sea Search Cottage

This is a light one bedroom, self catering garden cottage on a property run by a group of marine biologists. We are situated 200m from the Muizenberg beach and close to the Muizenberg Vlei - perfect for walking and surfing and just 5 to 10 minutes walk from the popular surfers corner or Muizenberg village. The cottage is at the rear of the property and has its own outdoor seating area and access to shared pool and braai facilities. There is a sofa bed allowing room for up to three guests. The cottage is self contained and located behind the main Sea Search offices and house in which we live (we are upstairs, the offices are downstairs of a large 2 story house). The cottage is a single story, 1 bed room unit. It has an open plan style living area with sofa bed and kitchen. The cottage is fully equipped for self catering and has an outside seating area and access to the shared back courtyard with braai facilities. There is also a hammock to swing in during summer days. We have a friendly dog named Glen who may also come to say hello. We also have a kayak we can rent our for 100 ZAR per 2 hour period. NB: Due to the drought the pool is currently out of use and we flush the toilets with grey water. We apologise for the inconvenience :-) There is a shared communal area which is also used by the owners and our family. We have two small children and a dog who use the communal area, pool and braai. The children are used to visitors, and mostly well behaved :-). We can help with local information on where to visit etc and are around for a beer etc if visitors would like to be social on the weekends. However, during the week we both work and need to put the children to bed early (around 7pm). Otherwise we will leave visitors to come and go as they please. Muizenberg is a great neighborhood, both in terms of beauty and friendliness of people. We would thoroughly recommend hanging out at surfers corner or within the Muizenberg Village. On a Friday, the local Blue Bird Food Market is easy walking distance and a 'must do' in Muizenberg The train station is a 10 minute walk. Kalk bay is 10 minutes by train. Simons Town is 30 minutes by Uber/ Taxi . Cape Town CBD is 40 mins - 1 hr depending on traffic. There are several local car hire places as well We do not advertise parking, but off-street parking may be possible if arranged with Simon (owner). The only issue is that the parking area is narrow, and therefore the cars must be arranged/ moved in the morning so as not to block each other in.
