13th century Medieval village house

A beautifully restored and comfortable 13th C Medieval village house situated in the heart of the beautiful hilltop village of Toffia, set in the rolling countryside of Olive groves and hilltop villages in Sabina, Lazio 35 miles N of Rome THe house forms part of a 13th C Palazzo that lies within the village walls . We fully restored the house in 2004 to a high standard including installing gas central heating and a wood burning stove . There are two bedrooms on the upper floor sleeping 4 but an additional two people could make use of the comfortable sofa bed that is situated in the living room. There is a lovely bathroom that is en-suite on the upper floor .The house has a very comfortable large living room with walls adorned with art and ceramics. There is also internet in the house . There is a beautiful kitchen that is fully equipped and comes with gas hob / electric oven & fridge freezer . The house from the rear commands a stunning view of the Sabina countryside and takes in all the glory of nearby hilltop villages and being surrounding by Olive trees that produce some of the finest Olive oil in the world. The house lies right in the heart of the virtually car free village . Guests have a private entrance to the house and also have use of the lovely terrace. Art restorer Susanna the owner and host of the property along with artist partner Roberto will be available to offer their extensive knowledge of Sabina , Lazio , Umbria and Rome. The hisotric walled hilltop village of Toffia is virtually traffic free and is a labyrinth of nooks and crannies. centuries old Palazzos , little Piazzas and two churches are situated within the walls. Toffia has two bars , a post office and a pharmacy. Toffia is situated 25 mins from the local main line train service and then 35 mins to Roma Normentana in the centre of Rome. Umbria is one hours driive North and visits to stunning Orvieto are well the trip. Meet and greet arrangements will be arranged for guests arriving at the local Passo Corese train station and full directions and contact details will be available for all guests arriving by car .
