Hideaway Shepherd Hut is situated on top of an old cider orchard in the heart of the Gloucestershire country side with views of The Malverns and May Hill. The beautiful Forest of Dean is also a twenty minute drive away. The location is completely private, ideal for visitors looking for a place to relax, unwind and enjoy a cosy, romantic break. The Shepherd hut is well appointed with all the luxuries including a comfy king size bed and a state of the art bathroom with its unique double sized power shower, complete with radio. There is plenty of hot water, fluffy towels, soaps, shampoo and body cream along with fresh linen and a hairdryer for your use. The Hideaway Shepherd Hut is warm and toasty in the winter months being fitted with both a radiator and a wood burner. The wood burner is seriously effective and easy to use adding to an already romantic feel. If you fancy cooking on top or in the oven of the wood burner, have a go!!! This works very efficiently. The Wood and kindling are included. A microwave is also on hand for your convenience. The fridge will have your fresh milk waiting, along with complimentary tea and coffee. There is a flat screen TV, with plenty of channels to choose from. A docking station is available that you can plug your devices into and also plenty of electrical sockets. Attached to the Shepherd hut is a huge veranda, where you can sit and enjoy the breath taking views and idyllic surroundings. There is plenty of wildlife to watch, foxes, rabbits, monk jack deer and a variety of birds with a well-stocked bird table right outside the window. Our horses, from time to time like to make themselves known which are friendly but not intrusive. For the summer months there is a BBQ and fire pit with lots of comfortable outdoor seating. Fresh meat and produce can be provided from the local farm shop at an extra cost prior to arrival. For your use is a lockable shed where you can store your mountain bikes etc. Space can be provided for a tent, but we do require advance notice. The approach to the Shepherd's Hut is a short walk on a hard surface path (outdoor shoes recommended) 300yds to the top of the orchard. Upon your arrival we will welcome you in personally and be on hand should you want or need anything at all during your stay. Otherwise you have complete privacy to come and go as you please. The Hideaway Hut is situated at the top of an old cider orchard on the edge of Highnam Woods, parts of the RSPB Nature reserve, with footpaths and bridleways from the door to explore. The historical city of Gloucester is 5 miles away, famous for the beautiful Cathedral which was used for the Harry Potter Movies, the historical docks are perfect for a wander along the river with plenty of restaurants to choose from. There are also plenty of country pubs in the area to choose from, many of them along the river Severn. The market town of Newent is 6 miles away where you can get all your supplies, including local produce. All within 30 mins drive you can be in the beautiful Cotswolds, picturesque forest of dean or up in the Malvern Hills, plenty to explore. The nearest train station is at Gloucester. Gloucester train station is 5 miles away, a taxi would be recommended from the station to the hut.
